if manny pacquiao was african-american ppl would be like "WOW HE'S SO ATHLETIC! FOOL IS SLICK!"

his 2008-2009 run was one of the greatest in recent history.

      Roy Jones and 130 Floyd.

He wasn't the best P4P ever, but I think McCallum at his best would be a tough outing for just about any MW in history.

Jones Jr, Robinson, and Ali. When in their Primes, damn near impossible to beat.

Seen Lennox and Pacquioa... Have to disagree just based off the fact Lennox got rocked early and many went to seek out the big KO which is Lennox was not hard to hurt. Pacquioa on the other hand had early loses and didn't seem unbeatable going life and death with Maquez 4 times and had issues with Morales in their first fight. Although great fighters, neither looked unbeatable.

Neither did Mayweather. Mayweather has always looked beatable but fighters always had issue fighting their fight. One thing Mayweather does better than damn near every fighter in history; and that is to dictate the pase of the bout and making his opponent fight not like themselves.

muhammad ali in the mid - late 60's prior to his layoff.

he could move like a welterweight, had underrated power, and used his reach and athletic quaility as well as any fighter i've ever seen.

robinson at WW isn't well filmed, but you can his speed and power and aggressiveness in the short clips of some of his WW fights. he also had arguably the greatest chin of all time.

i also want to mention sugar ray leonard and roberto duran. ray leonard had it all. he could box, punch, dance, bite down and be tough. roberto duran BEAT HIM at his best weight when he was in his physical prime. duran's a fighter who had serious talent, but at higher weights was generally greater than the sum of his parts. he had skill, skill, skill. subtle skill, too. not the flashy type of stuff that a layman can notice. duran would stand there and act like he was trying to trade to the layman, but he'd be slipping and setting up perfect counterpunches. he also had some of the bets p4p power and chin that you'll ever see. he could punch hard enough to shake marvin hagler, iran barkley, and he had the chin to stand up to the gas of top hitters all the way through 160 lbs.

he was a natural LW, spending close to a decade as the best LW on the planet in the 70's.

thes eare great, great fighters. the resume of modern fighters really can't compare in the ppv era, and i don't think they will. they just don't fight enough. duran had 119 fights, and boxed over 800 rounds in his pro career. leonard had a short career, but he fought and beat basically everybody during his tenure. knockout of hearns, benitez, stoppage of duran, dubious win over marvin hagler. these are wins over greats. hearns was one of the best WW we have ever seen, and leonard beat him in his prime.

floyd mayweather at his best was a similarly great stylist, btu not quite on the level. floyd's the best defensive fighter i've ever seen.

              ali had pop.

it's just he danced a lot.

but if set his feet and put his shoulder into it, he had power.

              agreed on ali's underrated power.
