Clearly. He waited until he saw Berto declining before he finally gave him a chance. Floyd wanted no parts of prime Andre Berto. That's why he kept feeding him against young hungry lions instead of manning up and taking on the beast by himself.

I'm relieved it wasn't Berto, thank god!
Eventhough its a 1 in a million shot, i hope it'd be Golovkin at 154....would be incredible!

I don't believe Mayweather is actually going to fight him. It's just like when Matthew Hatton's name kept popping up a couple of years ago.
I don't believe it either but I'd rather he fight Berto than Khan because begging shouldn't be how you go about getting a big fight. At least Berto will get it quietly.

Plus it sets a terrible precedent for the sport, now the next generation of stars will avoid all genuine challengers while their army of twitter followers conduct marketing campaigns to walk them into big fights.

Berto has the blueprint. This is like Daniel San vs Mr Miyagi

Mayweather has about 5-6 quality opponents to choose from, he has the power to make pretty much any fight he wants.
Rios fought Alvarado, Alvarado won, Manny chose Rios, the loser. Provodnikov was begging for Manny before he lost to Algeri, Manny chose Algeri. Kell Brook beat Porter in August 2014. Manny fought Algeri November 2014. Not to mention that Oscar and Haymon agreed to Danny Garcia facing Pacquiao before he chose Algeri. Last but not least, Manny re-signed with Arum, when he knew at the time that Haymon was taking over the WW division. NO EXCUSES!

Berto is terrible but at least he has some decency to him. Just watch Khan totally denigrate and **** on Berto, despite working out at the same gym with the same trainer.

I'll give you Alvarado but Algieri officially beat Provodnikov, it was kind of hard to pick Ruslan, Pac's sparring partner who just lost and would be without Roach. Brook got stabbed by a machete after beating Porter. Garcia was always a Haymon guy, I expect all that was just talk. Expecting Manny to sign with Haymon is unrealistic and unfair.

Manny definitely didn't have the choices available to him that Floyd does now, Floyd can fight anyone he wants to.

I appreciate that you recognize that Brandon Rios did not deserve the title shot! However, there is no plausible excuse for Manny Pacquioa to have ever fought Chris Algeri! Algeri SURVIVED a fight with Ruslan, and Ruslan was begging for the fight BEFORE Manny signed to fight Algeri. You "expect" Garcia was all talk, but Oscar said Haymon was onboard! Manny should've proved Oscar to be a liar instead of fighting Algeri! Anyway, there is no plausible excuse for Floyd to fight Berto vice Khan, or GGG @ 154 or above! If you defend one, then you have to defend the other!

I'm thinking, if Berto has no idea by now, then it could still be Khan? as he's on Ramadan
