Comments Thread For: Berto Reacts To Rumors of Landing Floyd Mayweather Jr.

There are widespread reports that former welterweight champion Andre Berto (30-3, 23KOs) will be the next opponent for WBC/WBA champion Floyd Mayweather Jr. (48-0, 26KOs) on September 12th at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

Berto is rumored to be the selection of choice if Mayweather - according to the rumors - steps away from the pay-per-view model where he's fought for the last ten years - and fights on network television (at no cost to viewers) on CBS.

        Honest Berto:

"My career is pretty much finished after a streak of losses to journeymen and movie actors. Floyd choosing to fight me on PBC to bail out his friend Al Haymon is basically equivalent to a homeless man winning the superlotto. I won't even put up any resistance and after I'm knocked out I will get up and frantically thank and hug everyone."

I won't watch Berto-Floyd but I'd rather he got the fight over Khan. I can't respect a grown man who begs for a pay day.
