I'd be surprised if Rigo takes a fight instead of sitting out and waiting on his contract with Hyde to expire.

This just shows you have barely watched Rigo. If the other fighter isn't fighting, he will take the lead with straights to the head and body. His lead straight to the body is lethal. He also draws aggression with the soft jab.

Part of why his countering is so effective is that he is so effective at taking the lead. It's very difficult to counter him, so his opponents are forced with the decision to be the aggressor or if you're Agbeko, give away the fight.

Rigo's glass chin would be his downfall. If he had a good chin, he would be p4p material.

Rigo won't have the heart/durability to take the heat when Loma gets going full speed.
A dude who escaped Cuba after 2 failed attempts and won over 400 fights doesn't have heart/durability.

On size alone, Loma might be a little too big for Rigo.

Would be a great fight though.

Kind of of like what Floyd has done to so many opponents...

In fact, off the top of my head I can only think of four fighters out of the 46 that didn't succumb to that: Maidana, Castillo, Emanuel Burton, and Jesus Chavez.

              -----------------------------

It could be a possibility but then again Lomachenko has great footwork and speed that not only allow him to exploit opponents from various angles, but also allows him to pivot in and out of danger. The way he turns his opponents and mixes up his punches may trouble a methodical counterpuncher. However, Rigondeaux has some serious power, and although Lomachenko was able to withstand a massive Salido's punches, a speedy bullet counter could put him in a vulnerable position.

Ability wise both men are up there, however they differ in regards to defense and offense. Rigondeaux's surgical and patient approach may not be enough for a speedy tactician the likes of Vasyl.

Great fight nonetheless and although Rigo's strategic counters may slow down Lomachenko at first, I'm sure Loma can adjust and begin to set his pace. If Rigondeaux attempts to coast, I'm sure Vasyl's flash will lead him to victory.

I wonder if Lomachenko can implement the same kind of strategy that Kovalev successfully used against B-Hop. Hopkins kept trying to sucker Kovalev in so he could counter, but Sergey just backed off, reset, and kept walking him down behind a long, stiff, jab.

If Loma could do the same, he might be able to negate Rigondeaux's counter punching. And I am certain that is going to be a huuuge part of Rigo's gameplan.

I am ***n pumped for this fight!!!

Distance control. I'm surprised to see Rigondeaux has a reach advantage (according to BoxRec). If he can maintain distance and keep Loma at the tip of his jab and his straights he can have a lot of success.

Rigondeaux may not be 50 years old... But he is considered to be ancient for the division he fights in. Add the fact that he has a questionable chin and has been caught numerous times by lesser, slower fighters, and you have yourself an interesting fight developing before your eyes. Atleast, much closer than what some may think.
