(video) Gennady describes his opinion on Ward fight

He clearly says that he has no plan to go to 168 and stay there. It would be only for the right fight and one time event.

He sees it 50:50 in terms of everything including the weight, hence CW 164.. He doesn't want SMW title. He wants the biggest fights and 160 legacy.

No more blaming Loeffler, it's come out of his own mouth that he wants 164 only for Ward. What a chicken ****.

Well there you have it. Froch or Chavez at 168=Cool. Ward at 168=not gonna happen.

GGG'S no different than any other fighter with leverage. He's not the first fighter to ask for a CW.

Well Froch, Chavez are bringing more to the table and Ward is much harder fight, so why not ask for 164 if you can..

Gennady thinks this is THE FIGHT in boxing, so obviously he is well aware what task is to go from your division and fight Andre Ward. Huge task!

Maybe later when fight makes more money it will happen at 168..

Right, Golovkin and co. don't see Ward bring in the sort of money that warrants him giving up all the ground.

After watching this it's even funnier how Golovkin fans bashing Cotto and label him as a coward, while Cotto started out from 140 and proved himself plenty of times and their favourite is now exclude the option to go up one single division.
I'm okay with it if a fighter really doesn't want to go up, if they really feel that way but:
1: Then I advise to his fans to not disrespect fighters like Cotto or Mayweather who proved themselves many more times than Golovkin did and they are accomplished in bigger weight classes too.
2: Let's not forget that Golovkin wasn't that adamant about not going to 168 when a Froch or Chavez Jr. fight was on the plate. You can say that Ward should move up but at least we can say that he never said that he goes up to 175 for Fonfara (just example) but will demand a 171,5 pounds catch weight to Kovalev.
3: Many people come with Hagler's example as a champion who has never been in other weight class than middleweight but still ATG. Problem is, Hagler's age of middle weight division is not even comparable to this lackluster 160 division where out of the Cotto vs Canelo fights's winner there are not a single remarkable name for Golovkin.

And I disagree with his bitching, his diva attitude and his catch weights. BUT, it's ridiculously over the top to call him a coward or anything like that. He proved himself against elite opponents and beat some of them not in one but in 3-4 weight classes, that's something to Golovkin isn't even near of. Just because a fresh champion doesn't unify immediately against the folk favourite KO monster he won't be a coward. Canelo brings more money to him and I think similar challenge as Golovkin. Absolutely understandable that between two equally or at least similar challenges he secures the bigger money fight first and just after theat the less money one.
