I would agree with this article if the opponent was someone like Maidana or one of Thurman's fellow young welterweights (Porter, Brook, Khan); I'd say he'd proved his worth. But this really was supposed to be a showcase opponent. Hiccups like these against C level opponents (no disrespect to Collazo who is a tough veteran but not much more) are worth making a fuss over. And it wasn't just that shot. The author neglected to mention Thurman's lack of composure in the following round with Collazo walking him down.

Put it this way, Thurman hasn't even properly auditioned yet, and he's already making missteps. He might correct them, but the promise of greatness doesn't look as full as it did before the fight.

Collazo prepared well! Very telling, like it or not!...., neither Khan nor Thurman sold themselves in last fight, very obvious. They went from a 3 piece suit style to Wearing Dockers.

Doubts would have been erased had One Time pushed for the Alexander fight when it was available to him, then beat him. He fought 40 year old Bundu, instead.
The Alexander fight was never offered to Thurman, it was offered to Khan.

That's what happens when your name is linked to the bigger names. It happens all the time.
