    He'll be back!

Still, he's massively overachieved - enjoy retirement, champ!

You can try and deny it all you want, but it was true. NSB was ALL OVER Bute.

he had a good career fair play to him. A pity he ducked the GGG fight but wouldn't blame him if he just doesn't have the desire anymore

Chicken haha, c'mon now, this is Carl Froch we're talking about here.

Froch was motivated by being the underdog, by being in Joe Calzaghe's shadow, by guys on internet forums claiming that he was an unskilled joke, by guys like Khan being handed everything to him on a silver platter while he had to do things the hard way, by having no television contract early in his career despite being one of the most exciting British fighters in the game.

He's now achieved all his goals, he's a rich man with a beautiful wife, and a lucrative television contract waiting for him. It's hard to get out bed in the morning when you're wearing silk pyjamas.

get the *** out froch you ducker.talked trash and then ducked the golovkin fight got schooled by ward and ducked a rematch showed no interest in avenging his loss.froch only wanted an easy fight and tried to cherry pick a fight with chavez jr.Im glad chavez jr lost so froch couldn't get that fight.froch is just an overrated slow footed brawler who uses his face as defense.*** all those who disagree.

Nobody is denying it. Who cares if NSB was all over him, he was overhyped and it was proven he was. I'm sure everyone was all over Jeff Lacy back in the day too.

I remember being called racist on here back when Bute was undefeated(i'll let you guess by which posters) for saying he hadn't fought anyone.

Good for him. Had a great career. I was looking forward to one last big fight, but he's been in enough big fights & these days you gotta jump through so many hoops it can be harder to make a fight than it should be.

You can't "duck" someone who isn't even fighting in your division.

It's a fight that could have happened, but Froch decided he was finished with boxing

We knew this was coming, he was never going to fight GGG. Good riddens to him as well, def overrated. Froch is a good fighter but not elite at all. I'm glad he's done though so we don't have to hear his mouth anymore. It makes sense though he has nowhere else to go at 168-175. He wasn't beating GGG, Ward, Kovalev or even Bhop so. He prob knows he would have lost to DeGale as well. So this was a wise move because he had no winning options.
