  • Comments Thread For: Howard Davis Jr. Diagnosed with Terminal Lung Cancer

Howard Davis Jr., who won Olympic gold at lightweight in 1976, was diagnosed in February with Stage IV lung cancer and told he had less than a year to live, according to Florida newspaper The Sun-Sentinel.

“Normally, it is a death sentence, but for me it's fight time,” he told the newspaper.

Davis continues to be treated, though the cancer has “spread throughout his lungs and to his liver, lower back, right shoulder and right hip,” the article said.

Sad To Hear But It's Not IF Death, But WHEN...

Prayers out to an Olympian who represented our Country well, better than it gets represented today. Prayers are miraculously he gets healed. Most importantly prayers are he's saved by Jesus Christ. Ephesians 2:8-9.

*** NO!!!! Huge fan of Davis!! I wanted him to win a title so bad!! I was hoping he didn't get knocked down against Rosario because he was doing so well in that fight.

Growing up on Long Island and watching him in the Olympics, hoping he'd win a title, I'm sad to hear this.
