That is too bad. Tremendous boxer. I was fortunate to have watched his whole career. Hope his time left is without pain and that he has people close to him during it.

It's good that Davis fears not death for - sad to say - at this point nothing will stop the cancer which is consuming his body.

Part of probably the best ever U.S. Olympic boxing team ever, winning gold along with Leo Randolph, Ray Leonard and the Spinks brothers. But despite that illustrious company it was Davis who picked up the Val Barker award as best boxer in Montreal. Says everything about the class he had. Big respect, Howard. Keep fighting!

Great amateur, good pro. Would have most likely won a world title in this era, he came pretty damn close against an excellent fighter in Edwin Rosario.

Hope he recovers.
