Why won't Kellerman ask Ward if he'll fight GGG at 160, like he asked Dawson if he'd fight Ward at 168? Why does the diva Ward get special treatment, when he doesn't deserve it?
OMFG. Are you serious? Ward could'nt ****ing make 160 if he literally carved muscle off of himself. Try and drain the guy 8ilbs. gtfo. Ward was wrong for doing it to Dawson and GGG is wrong for even mentioning a catch weight. Its just wrong on every level and indefensible. If GGG wants a career defining fight than do it at 168. Unlike most here I actually think GGG can beat Ward, but would favor Ward because there is no way to know if GGG is the goods or not until he steps up. I think he is, but he needs to prove it. Anyways GGG needs to quit ***** footing around and go up and whoop Ward's ass or Loeffler needs to stfu. He is just making GGG look bad.

Catch weights should be banned in boxing imo. They are utter ****. I don't care who is doing it.

plus Mayweather and Canelo fought at 152, not 150, 2 lbs shouldn't be all that bad for a professional athlete, especially if u r gonna outweigh ur opponent 15+ lbs in the ring anyway, we saw what happened in Porter vs Broner, and Porter came down 3 lbs, he didn't make anything less than 147 since he was 15, Canelo was fighting at 147 in 2010, so using the weight as an excuse is lame, if u r confident enough and u sign that contract, u have no right to make excuses especially if u lost and lost badly.
funny cuz ellerbe him self used a boxingscene link dated same as yours as the CW excuse, this CW idea didnt came from canelos team during negotiations for the fight at 2013..
oh and by the way 2 lbs could be an issue 1 year later let alone 2 years later on a kid who is still growing.. and nobody is making excuses for the L, he was the first to admit that the CW had nothing to do with the outcome, but that doesnt justify the CW...

Alvarez was fine, it was irrelevant. The hypocrisy from Floyd's fan base was very entertaining.

totally agree with you, canelo shouldnt have accept it to begin with it...
it was the CW or no fight, but no fight at that point would have been better for his career in my opinion...

Not only was the title on the line, both fighters had titles, had been fighting at that weight before and both fought for the title before.

That plus Floyd admitted years before that the intentions for his CW was to drain Canelo. "CWs are done to drain your opponent" - Floyd

Also, Canelo and his team were saying that it would be very difficult for him to make weight and said that making weight was the hardest thing that he had to do during his training camp.

It made a fighter who has already a slow work rate and stamina issues even more at a disadvantage.
Size was Canelo's only advantage and Floyd tried to take that away from him.

It was disgraceful. Just like Cotto and Manny. All POS.

GGG has asked for a catchweight, but he hasn't actually fought for one. If he does fight at 164, he will receive criticism. Asking for it for a fight that likely won't even happen doesn't mean anything imo.

Like 10 years ago. The guy really is a natural LHW imo who has just been able to squeeze down to SMW. He is'nt making 164 much less 160. Its a straight up pipe dream.

Its a tough decision. As an athlete, you want to take on all challenges and Floyd was his challenge. Especially knowing that Floyd has only a few more fights left, you do not want to say no because you may never get that opportunity again. remember that at that point Manny had said no to Floyd's PEDs rules and had not gotten the fight. So Canelo didn't want to take the risk.

                    That is why:
                    - Canelo took it even though it drained him.
                    - Manny Paquiao fighting with an injury.
                    - Maidana fighting without his preferred gloves
                    - Diego Corrales took it even though it drained him. Was thinking about doing time in jail and had the flu the week before the fight.
                    - Hatton moved up 1 division where he never looked good at that division.
                    - Marquez moved up 3 divisions in about a year.
