This is why I don't think the lawsuits will stick. The fighters are happy and well taken care of and the small time promoters are being given an opportunity to compete with the big dogs.
The only promoters hurting are Top Rank, GBP and Main Events. Dibella, Warriors, Gym, Mayweather, etc. are all getting bigger and better cards.Comment

So GBP and Haymon made an agreement to cut business ties, Haymon paid GBP and now GBP is suing again bcuz Haymon is honoring that agreement and not doing business with GBP?
TopRanks lawsuit just seems like clever wordplay to meComment

Promoters? LOL Haymon CANNOT be a promoter and a manager period. He especially can't manage opponents and operate as a promoter to promote events. Haymon is claiming that Mayweather promotions is the promoter, but Haymon clearly is the promoter securing deals while Mayweather promotions is just a shell corporation acting as a promoter in these events.
I think Haymon is going to lose these lawsuits... he'll have to void these PBC contracts and act strictly as a manager...or vice versa...Comment

Yes, it's dumb. Didn't realize my statement would fly over so many heads. Thanks for links. It's dumb to point out that the PBC wasn't even announced when GBP reached their settlement?
That the PBC tv deals hadn't even been reported or announced yet?
The Sports Business Journal article detailing the relationship between Haymon and Waddell & Reed didn't even come out until April, and it was followed shortly by the reports of the GBP lawsuit.

The Ali Act was inherently made to protect fighters from unscrupulous promoters, not protect said promoters. This is why I don't think the lawsuits will stick. The fighters are happy and well taken care of and the small time promoters are being given an opportunity to compete with the big dogs.
The only promoters hurting are Top Rank, GBP and Main Events. Dibella, Warriors, Gym, Mayweather, etc. are all getting bigger and better cards.
Al Haymon, in essence, is trying to establish an NWA-type model, with a traveling crew of boxers and affiliated promoters being positioned in their own regions, utilizing the PBC fighters whenever possible, continuing on with their own fight cards.
Dibella in the Northeast, TGB Promotions in California, Mayweather Promotions in Nevada, Warriors Boxing in Chicago/Southeast, GYM in Canada, etc.
The "new order" seems to exist without Top Rank or Golden BoyComment
