And which of the underlined above is Haymon NOT doing?

The fighters signed those 'advisory' deals with Haymon because they want that arrangement. The very basis of the agreement is to give Haymon such control. 'Final say', in this case, is subjective.

If you're the type of fighter who wants to be locked into a talk-to-my-promoter,-they-control-my-career contract or a TV deal where that network can veto your choice of opponents and dictate purses, then Haymon Sports LLC is probably not for you.

You just described the vast majority of agent/manager contracts in entertainment, sports, modeling, etc.

Go tell Suge Knight, Slim and Baby, Puffy or J. Prince you want to jump on a track with somebody they don't 'approve'. Go tell Scott Boras or David Falk (back in the day) about the 'less' money you want to take in order to get signed by training camp. Go tell CAA how you're going to take that career-ending role in 'Gigli 2'.

The ability of your representative/manager to turn down offers on your behalf happens in tons of industries. The key is having the same vision for where you want your career to go.

Update from the attorney on reddit...with a link to GBP's Opposition to Motion to Stay....

In the Golden Boy lawsuit, GBP filed their opposition to Haymon's motion to stay that I analyzed in my last post (https://www.reddit.com/r/Boxing/comm...trust_lawsuit/). Here is the document: https://www.scribd.com/doc/272326986...Motion-to-Stay

Their response is comprehensive and convincing. I identified the two major issues in my last post: (1) are the claims subject to arbitration and (2) who decides. It seems the answers are (1) no and (2) the court. The big points:

The parties to this lawsuit (Golden Boy Promotions and Bernard Hopkins) were not parties to the settlement agreement. It looks like Oscar and a different Golden Boy entity were signatories. Their claims were released by the settlement and they are subject to arbitration for further claims related to the settlement. GBP and Hopkins should still be able to sue for their own claims (but not for Oscar's). Whoever negotiated that settlement agreement for Haymon should be ashamed.

Haymon has continued to commit violations after the date of the settlement giving rise to new claims.

The court is the right party to decide if the claims are arbitrable because the agreement is not clear, especially given that these are different parties.

There's also a procedural development: Upon a request to move the court hearing on the motion to stay to September, the judge ordered that a hearing would not be required. He did that before GBP had even filed their opposition. The GBP lawyers do not seem happy about that. I don't know this judge, and perhaps the GBP lawyers are more familiar with him, but I tend to think this means he'll rule against Haymon on this issue because he made up his mind before even seeing GBP's opposition and because the Top Rank case was transferred to this judge.

Judges deny Al Haymon motion to move the Golden Boy lawsuit to arbitration, so the lawsuit will proceed.

Bob Arum tells me the federal judge and mediator's ruling means "everything is going to come out" about PBC.

Oscar might wear fishnets but he's about to take Haymon to school in court again and get his 2nd lump sum payment from ole Al.

Haymon doesn't want his companies business out there, who knows what will come out as this goes on.

Powerful boxing manager Al Haymon’s attempt to move Oscar De La Hoya’s $300-million antitrust lawsuit against him out of the courts and toward a potential settlement in arbitration was denied this week by a federal judge.

Judge's ruling could force answers to how Al Haymon's Premier Boxing Champions operates

Powerful boxing manager Al Haymon's attempt to move Oscar De La Hoya's $300-million antitrust lawsuit against him out of the courts and toward a potential settlement in arbitration was denied this week by a federal judge.
The denial followed a similar decision by an arbitrator who has presided over De La Hoya's split with his former Chief Executive Richard Schaefer and Haymon, and sets up the possibility of depositions, discovery exchanges and other details about how Haymon's Premier Boxing Champions operates.
In addition to the backing of a Kansas asset management company, Waddell & Reed, PBC is backed by other shareholders who could be identified as a result of the ruling in the Los Angeles court of U.S. Central District Court Judge John F. Walter.

Emails and other exchanges that reveal how PBC conducts business are also expected to be sought by those suing Haymon.
In his Tuesday ruling, Walter supported a Sept. 1 decision by arbitrator and retired judge Daniel H. Weinstein that determining the alleged antitrust actions are not within the scope of the arbitration provision and that those claims are not presently arbitrable.

              Walter also scolded Haymon's attorneys.

Although "the court was confident that defendants; counsel would realize that the motion was now moot and withdraw it to avoid wasting judicial resources, counsel made the puzzling decision to pursue the motion and raised patently frivolous arguments in the reply," Walter wrote.
Arum said Haymon's attorneys have moved to dismiss his $100-million lawsuit filed on the same grounds as De La Hoya's, but said the motion has no chance.
