Golovbum is a total fraud. He was happy to fight at full 168 against retiree Froch and Jr but Ward has to be at 164. GG doesn't have the bottle to step in the ring with Ward.Last edited by KnockoutNed; 07-09-2015, 07:27 PM.Comment

I originally intended to bash GGG mercilessly for this, simply because of.....
* undeserved hype
* making untrue comments for PR/marketing purposes
* somewhat unreasonable bandwagon fanbase
But personally, I dont think it is appropriate to question a professional fighters opponent selection..... unless it happens to be in stark contrast to their marketing/hype.
The reason why is 1) so long as they get paid and provide for their family they have done their job 2) their resume will be thoroughly examined in hindsight, and they will not get any credit legacy-wise for an underwhelming opponent selection.
It matters not to me.
Golovkin can fight whoever he likes, as often as he likes, no problem.....
At least I no longer have to listen to that " anyone from 154-168 " bullshht.
Actually, I no longer have to listen to Team Golovkin about anything.
GGG's hype was created around Gennady being a beast would fight anyone from 154-168, and it was created around him being "avoided".
Now that we know those two issues are not a factor, I can completely forget about Golovkin until he fights world-class opposition.Comment

It's funny how fighters like Macklin and Murray who were respected when Martinez was considered a P4P fighter and also gave him tough fights, are called "bums" after Golovkin runs through them. One minute the haters are saying "good, Golovkin's fighting Macklin, a top 5 MW, that should give him a good test" the next, you guys are calling Macklin a "bum" while at the same time calling for Golovkin to fight who many consider the #2 P4P fighter. You GGG haters are full **** and can't be taken seriously, but, for now, have at least this "164" issue to legitimately hang your hats on. Enjoy it b1tches

Not true. Macklin was considered a Top 5 MW and a really good test for Golovkin and gave P4P fighter, Sergio Martinez, all that he could handle. Macklin also had a close fight against Felix Sturm, arguably beating him. The same Sturm that beat Oscar De La Hoya, but was robbed on the cards, years before Mayweather fought him.
I don't expect you to see things for what they are, you're just a hater and haters gonna hate. Have fun with your delusions.
