Perhaps you'd be happy with him fighting Degale, Abraham and Groves to build his profile in preperation for big fight with Kovalev or Golovkin?

I'm saying that Ward is going back down to 168, has more than enough fresh fights to keep him busy for the next 18 months at 168, and Golovkin can't hide forever (Cotto-Canelo winner is going to vacate the WBC 160 belt in favor of the vacant WBC 154 belt, David Lemieux is easily 3 fights away from even remote pressure to fight Golovkin, and the "hype himself up by can crushing" schtick is wearing thin).

Golovkin fights his can in September/October, fights for the vacant WBC belt December/January, and then he's "whistling pass the graveyard". He might be able to skate by the Spring, but come Summer 2016, he's run out out leeway.

Why not? It would be a hell of a lot better than fighting the Paul Smiths of the world. Let Ward unify all the titles at SMW, let GGG do the same at Mw and Kovalev do it at LHW. THEN Ward has two HUGE PPV fights waiting for him. Then Ward can choose between an unprecedented unification fight between UNDISPUTED UNIFIED TITLE HOLDERS at either the division above him or the one below him. Imagine if he was to fight and defeat GGG and hold ALL TITLES AT MW AND SMW and THEN, THEN he challenges the UNDISPUTED UNIFIED CHAMPION AT LHW!!!

Imagine his place in history if he was able to win ALL THE TITLES IN THREE DIVISIONS!!!!! Talk about being the best of all time!

All it takes is the will to take the chance and to get off his ass and get it done. He could unify the SMW titles in 6 months if he really put his mind to it and if his promoter was serious about backing him with serious money. Of course that assumes that he is able to win the other titles in the first place, and that he can defeat Golovkin for his titles and then move up and take Kovalev down.

Do I think he could do it? No, I don't. I think he would have trouble winning all the titles at SMW and would lose to GGG or Kovalev, whoever he fights first. But it does not mean I would not like to see him try!!!

Greatness requires the taking of risks, this is why so few ever achieve it.

Paraphasing the man himself, after he fights Ramirez, then what? After he fights Groves and Degale, then what?

These guys aren't on his level and they certainly aren't making him any money.
Ward-Golvokin at 168 is the next "money fight" for Ward; he's basically got a minimum of $2m for every other fight in the cue.

Simply put, Ward "keeps himself busy" while he waits for Team Golovkin to grow a set.

Chudinov (WBA#1), Ramirez (WBA#3), "Porky" Medina(WBA#11), Feigenbutz-Reynoso winner (WBA#7vs#8), and Patrick Nielsen (WBA#6) are all options available to Ward, with his promoter willing to actually open up the pocketbook to bring in the opponent wanted.

Ward fights this October/November, fights again Spring 2016, and then fights again late Summer 2016. If Golovkin continues to duck him, he turns to the chicken**** middleweight titlist that his team is showing him to be, the public takes notice of the nonsense, and Ward moves on with his career, likely moving up to light heavyweight and simply schooling the guys cutting from 200lbs off of sheer skill.

Ward just had his first fight since Nov 2013.
GGG has fought 5 times since then.
GGG is fighting 2 more times this year.
Ward will be lucky to fight one more time this year.
One guy keeps himself busy fighting and it's not Ward lol

So.. Team Golovkin needs to "grow a set", leave behind unfinished business and much bigger money fights at 160, and move up to fight Ward for a fraction of the $$$ at 168? or he's ducking?

While Ward, who has nothing left to prove at 168, can barely even make that weight anymore, shouldn't move up to 175? Where he has EVERYTHING to gain?

We all know Kovalev is dangerous but he is also a HUGE opportunity Ward could capitalize on. Imagine how much Ward's stock would climb if he defeats Kovalev. GGG doesn't really have that much to gain by moving up, certainly not as much as Ward does.. Now tell me again, which of the two really needs to "grow a set".
