It would be great to see the 49th on CBS but there are a lot of mouths that need to be fed. CBS would be looking at close to $100 million guarantee and I do see them selling that much advertisement. Mayweather isn't main stream marketing.
Floyd fighting on CBS in September?

This, basically Al would have to buy out the Mayweather contract from CBS, and then swallow the losses on the payday he would require.Floyd's contract pays him in the area of 30 million per fight no matter whether it is PPV or not. If CBS wants to throw that much money down the tube on a PBC show, they can go right ahead and do it. And not all of Floyd's PPVs have turned a profit in the past in any case.
But seeing as how PBC is NOT a CBS property and they do not control the show, I fail to see how Haymon could shift the final fight from Showtime to CBS because he would actually have to move the contract from Showtime to PBC which is NOT a CBS property, basically PBC would have to purchase the Mayweather contract from CBS/Showtime. I seriously doubt this could be done so easily.Comment

I don't think it makes that much of a difference at this point if they lost anything the made it back in the pac fight and if Floyd fights on cbs the commercial space will be expensive af.Comment

The person who wrote this is an idiot. Rumors are something that boxing writers pull out of their ass when they have nothing else to write about or smoke too much marijuana and start having heavenly revelations.http://www.thesweetscience.com/news/...-screen-on-cbs
I'd like to sue Al Haymon for taking my idea, I know he stole it from me. I'm a boxing promoter genius, these are facts. I said Floyd should fight on CBS in a thread on here not too long ago.
In all seriousness though, this would be great even if it's against Berto. When they were announcing opponents and I had a feeling they were looking for cheap ones for a reason. I think this is why, they're going to put Floyd on CBS and see what the "ceiling" is for a fight on primetime. It should happen because it's a great move and would show sponsors and fighters there's money to be made on regular TV.
There are definitely some bad things about Haymon, but if this happens I only wish other promoters had his vision and more importantly the bankroll and ball sack to make it happen.Comment

Floyd vs a Berto/mayfield is a hard fight for CBS to sell tons of advertising at a way above average price to make sure they are able to pay mayweather what he has been used to making. I know it's mayweather but come on now him vs Berto or mayfield is straight garbage.
People say well it's on free tv why complain. Or boxing fans complain to much. The fans that complain are usually the one that are tired of garbage matchups by the top guys in boxing. My thinking is if boxing is trying to take this sport back to mainstream and grow the sport. They need to showcase the best possible fights on these networks. Instead of saying well at least it's free so quit complaining. Floyd in a basic showcase fight against Berto/mayfield does nothing for growing boxing again. The only one that are excited are the fanboys but they are excited about anything Floyd.Comment

Yeah because 800+ K are dud numbers.Floyd won't sell **** if it's on ppv. Everyone finally realized how much of a boring, point fighter he really is this May. Ain't nobody trying to pay money to see him fight again. He's great at what he does, that I admit but he's a glorified point fighter. Put that ni99a on CBS for free!! **** outta here.... He can't sell anyway without a super star opponent anyway. He's dropped dud ppv numbers under showtime, costing them money when he didn't fight Pac and Nelo.
Who doesn't need a dance partner to do big numbers?Comment
