He'd definitely be better and the only real boxer he'd have fought.

Who has Monroe beaten at middleweight? You seriously think Lara would have any trouble with all the bums in Monroe's record? Has Monroe faced a bigger puncher than Angulo and Canelo (regardless of weightclass) and lived? He has not.

Where in the world are you getting 178 from? He was 172 against Golovkin. Lara was 170 against Smith, and is only one inch shorter than Monre. Same reach. This isn't some huge size difference.

As I established, Monroe is barely bigger than Lara. And after fights like Cotto-Geale, Chavez-Vera/Martinez, I would have though everyone has learned that size does not win fights by now. I mean, you would almost (and I emphasize almost here) have a point if Monroe was a big puncher, but he's feather fisted with a 30% KO ratio. Do you believe Monroe hits harder than Canelo?

and fights nobodies** at 160. What we know from Monroe is that he can handle mediocre fighters at middleweight. Lara can handle mediocre fighters at middleweight like Ronald Hearns too.

This is some very spurious reasoning from you. Using your logic, you should favor any bigger feather fisted fighter with no notable wins over an elite fighter in the weight class below.

And that was straight garbage. It's the first time since Golovkin hit the US that I don't think his team put in effort to fight the best possible opponent. Yeah, he fought Stevens and Rosado and Ishida, but always once he had tried to fight better fighters. For Monroe they pretty much had him in the pipeline before the Murray fight even happened.

I won't ever defend that, and I'll be pissed if they do that again.

Lara is a better fight for Floyd than GGG is he not?

do CW's, fighting unranked guys, guys after beatings affect Pac legacy

Lara would be the most skilled guy GGG has fought as a pro.

They never fought each other in the ams, did they? How did that go?

Anyhow, these guys are close enough to the same size that this fight should be viewed as legit @ 160, imo.

              Make the fight.

It's not some huge physical mismatch as people are making it out to be. Whoever wins, it won't be due to to size. It'll be due to skill.
