I think Lara dies make him look bad in spots, eventually getting stopped. Even though I expect him to lose, that win would tell me more about GGG than the cans he's been fighting so far.

Like 2 years ago everyone said, oh Macklin is legit, he dropped Martinez and was ahead on the scorecards before the fight got stopped.

Then you had Murray who was an uncrowned champion, arguably beat Martinez in Argentina and Sturm in Germany, very tough and rugged who would drag GGG into deep waters.

Then you had the hard punching Stevens and Rubio who would test GGGs weak chin and expose his weak defense.

Then you had Daniel Geale who would box circles around GGG and outpoint him.

Now GGG dismantled all of them and knocked em all out you tell us the whole MW division is ****? And Lara is the saviour? Wow you guys crack me up.

I really hope that fight gets made and Lara finally has some balls to move to 160 and asks Daddy Haymon if he can fight on HBO.

GGG is just levels above all these guys at 160, that does not mean the division is trash and all MWs are terrible.
i was wondering the same thing. he's a weak chinned spoiler who does the bare minimum. i'm not even that high on GGG but he absolutely murders lara.

He's not even strong at 154lbs, don't know if 160lbs is a good weight for him. His issue I see now is he doesn't land enough punches. There's a difference between boxing and running. What Mayweather did to Canelo, that was smart boxing. What Lara did with Canelo, that was running. He fought good, just didn't try to land enough punches to win the fight.

As good as he is at 154.

We spend too much time reading about guys like Cotto (159 catchweight lmao) crying and moaning about a couple pounds but you're not going to go from a good fighter to a bad one by allowing yourself an extra 6 lbs.

Moving down is a diff story since some guys really kill themselves to cut. I think Lara would look about the same at middle.

It's not a fight to make any great claims over but it's sure better than anything Golovkin has done. This is actually what he SHOULD be doing but people would heap on extra praise because it's so far above the lackluster opponents he's faced.

What makes you so sure Lara would beat Murray, or Monroe?

Common sense, I suppose. I can't stand Lara and his boring, running ass. But, I'm not going to lie, he's got talent.
I think Golovkin probably beats him but just getting him to take the fight would be the bigger challenge.

Rather amusing to see rabid Golovkin haters call him a coward for not fighting someone even they admit he would beat.

Ill be honest I've never understood why this matchup is even talked about. Lara is a 154lber affiliated with Haymon, whereas GGG is a 160lber fighting on HBO.

Not only that but GGG is a horrible style matchup for him based on the Angulo fight.
