Ice John Scully, former 175 pound pro has collected many of these stories how some guy with an attitude comes into the gym off the street and thinks his sht doesn't stink and then a 10-6-3 type fighter in the gym takes it easy on him for a couple rounds and still sends the street guy home with his tail between his legs. And yet some people on here have the NERVE to call a 10-6-3 fighter a bum. And that's another point. Any time you are hearing people on here call a fighter a bum, you know they don't know sht about boxing and have never been to a boxing gym ever in their life. The Rod Salka's of the world didn't earn shots at titles but they are not bums.

Yup and Salka might be fighting Linares for a title next.

Thats what makes all of the posts on this board calling certain fighters bums all the more disgusting. These so called bums would end the night for most of the members on this board In less than a round.

I hate it especially when former world champions who may not be as versatile as a Mayweather (i.e Provodnikov and Rios) are called bums. I can't imagine many things worse than getting into a street fight with Ruslan. The way he goes crazy in fights with Hayemakers when he has you hurt is ridiculous.

This is only ever interesting if it's a street fight scenario and you have the bigger guy trying to wrestle with the boxer. Boxer would be more ready than most, but he can still get mauled and overpowered by a guy that is stronger, or someone that got the first punch in(Sucker punch).

I almost want to give the hater more credit for this than Mikey.

Yeah and boxers can get their punches off real quick too. A while back on pros vs joes, Gatti (RIP) fought a heavyweight with amateur experience and dropped his ass.

Also it is very difficult to land a clean shot on a trained pro. Somebody thinking a guy like Gatti or Rios is easy to hit is in for a rude awakening. Your "killer punches" will miss badly and if they land they'll be brushed off like they are nothing.

Even if you are bigger a pro boxer is most likely strongr man,they are in tip top shape and almost perfectly conditioned..50 cent is on record saying he hit Mayweather,and instantly got hit back and then tried to grab him and it went nowhere. These little guys are strong as hell
