Obviously, someone who devotes more time and effort to their craft will have the advantage. This is kind of similar to the Jack of all Trades, but Master of None arguement. The Jack has a very slim chance against the Master of One.

floyd would whoop those guys in a boxing match, or any kind of fight in an open area, but if they were in an elevator and they wanted to strangle him to death i think you'd be surprised about the nature of the struggle, and to find that floyd would be in a legit fight for his life. nature is nature. floyd's not lifting that guy off of him if he gets on the ground. he's not going to get be able to get dude's hands off of his throat once they get there. he's just not strong enough.


i saw that giant fat guy in vegas once. he as as wide as a slot machine. really. he's easily, and i mean easily, 400 lbs. floyd's not going to push 400 lbs off of his chest if he's on the ground, backed into a corner, wrapped up in a bear hug, etc. he's going to have to ask for permission to breath. and that's what size does. these guys aren't "just big" they're "big enough" that floyd or maidana wouldn't be able to break out of the bear hug, or get off of the ground if they're down there and they've got a guy that big on top of them. the ref doesn't come out of the woodwork and break you in real life.

if you're strong enough, and you've got a firm grip, you can literally squeeze somebody until they stop moving or you feel a pop . i get that some of you don't understand that, but you can't lift 400 lbs, a single inch off of the ground, either.

cool. i was talking about a regular guy facing a professional boxer who competes at elite level. if chino punches that guy in the fat bare knuckle that's it, he isn't gonna recover. that's pure fat.

plus, have you seen that all access episode where floyd puts one of his body guards in the ring vs a smaller guy and gets KO'd? is hilarious

I remember reading Rios was dropped at a barbecue, and Hatton was one punch KO'd in a bar fight. I don't doubt they'd destroy those same people in the ring but a brawl outside the ring is a different ballgame. Boxers would be better equipped than most, but not infallible either.

Boxers have the advantage but street fighting is anything goes.

I've decided to bump this thread mainly due to seeing the **** people have been giving Paulie about the whole McGregor saga and particularly at those calling him feather fisted and claiming they would KO him to end this once and for all, even a dude like Paulie has 3 one shot KO's against PROFESSIONAL boxers. Boxers spend their whole lives perfecting the punch, put some respeck on these fighters
