You said that the promoters (dibella etc) are only getting a flat fee; I brought that up to show that the promoters are also getting outside revenue. Meaning they are promoting for their own benefit, not just being shells.

Lmao.... You are both dolts when it comes to anything about business..

So mathed and yourself are basically saying, Haymon will take over, and then drive up prices....

So that means he will take it off free TV, and make boxing fans pay, say like 10 bucks a month for showcase mismatches, and look to score big paydays with PPv fights...
So basically exactly what arum, King, gbp, showtime, hbo have done for decades and that you defend,,,

Lmao... You guys talk out both sides of your mouth....

I was excited about free boxing as everyone else until it became obvious what PBC was planning on doing. And I have no problem saying that I hope PBC fails. Simply because boxing doesn't need a UFC style organization trying to monopolizing the sport.

The product is also sub par. Therefore many of the casual fans that I know that were excited about watching boxing on free network TV have already tuned out. And ESPN never really did away with FNF. PBC has simply moved it over to Showtime and now you pay a premium for it.

"defacto" promoter doesn't mean anything; Chavez Jr Promotions LLC isn't an actual company that sets about making things, but it is still treated, for all intents and purposes, as a company, tax benefits and all.

Haymon saw the landscape, looked through the rules, and proceeded to operate the way he envisioned things, all the way legal (with so much money at risk, you can bet your bottom dollar that he crossed all the T's and dotted the I's).

If the rules change, the rules change; still, I doubt that a law drafted to take power away from unscrupulous fight promoter is going to turn around and take leverage away from fighters.

Al Haymon is basically a sports agent for his boxers, and has guided them away from traditional boxing powerhouses like hbo, and instead is moving boxing back to free network TV... This has old school promoters like Bob arum feeling really threatened as they don't want the status quo to change, hence the lawsuits

All the other banks pretty much get shut down and this one bank then drops the rates through the floor and jacks up the interest rates on all their credit lines with impunity. They have everyone where they want them, little to no competition to keep them somewhat honest, and you are out of a job.

                    Still OK with that situation?
A bank that offers 90% on savings account will go out of business within 2-3 years (Most banks take in deposits, to then loan out that money to individuals, ie cars, homes, credit cards, education, etc. The moment that anyone defaults on those loans, the bank becomes insolvent). Sad attempt at a false example, but that's nothing new.

Rather than charging 20% on a loan, Haymon's "super bank" charges 10% on a loan, happy to take the relative hit on their loan business, but also able to sell the new customers on other accounts with the bank (savings, checking, financial planning, etc).

If you can't compete, you go under; the funny thing about banks though is that, with the landscape changing, smaller banks will be able to get into the mix, build banking business that can operate on the new 10% loan margin, eventually growing into larger banks as they deliver for their customers.

                      Got it I think..

So you mean Arum wants boxing to stay on pay channels like HBO or PPV then?? If so then that's silly. More people would become fans IMO if boxing is regularly shown on free tv instead of expensive channels that you need to pay extra to subscribe to.

Hell I recently subscribed to HBO Canada (just for boxing) a few months ago for $20 extra a month. So far I've been beyond happy as a clam with it, but at the end of the day that's still $20 more a month on top of my monthly Rogers bill which is high to begin with. And $20 extra a month does add up...
