Ward, like Carl Froch/James Degale/George Groves/etc, is a "day-of super middleweight", in that he never goes up all that much in weight, and can basically work his way down to 168 in the gym (with no need for saunas or plastics).

Why is Golovkin so spooked of stepping in with guys his size? Because it seems like Gennady Golovkin is the only 165-pound amateur fighter who has decided to go down in weight and apparently fight his full career at 160.
Once again this cretin. GGG was 161 5 days before Rubio. Never rehydrated 15lbs. His last couple of fights went up to 170, which is less than SWW Canelo, Trout, Lara, Angulo etc

Yeah because they're smaller fighters. Lets not pretend Froch is some ATG, the guy was getting his head boxed off by Taylor. And Degale is okay but can also be outboxed.

Marvin Hagler never moved up. I never read anybody criticizing him for that.

Golovkin hadn't even seen $1m for a fight by that point, so he and his camp were more than happy to get ****ed by Arum.

-Froch has already made all the money he's ever dreamed of making, and Golovkin's name doesn't really mean anything in England, even if Froch took the fight to his hometown (beyond that, with the way K2 has brushed off talk of other fights, you can also assume that making the fight would've cut significantly into Froch's possible take on the fight too).

Team Golovkin could give a **** about "fighting the lineal champ"; they see the money that Cotto brings in and want a piece. The same thing can be said for wanting the Canelo fight (40,000 people into the Alamodome) and the Mayweather fight ($70m at the gate).

Mention Ward or Lara and, all of a sudden, those fights can't be made for a multitude of reasons; harping to fight the guy with the massive deal with the rival broadcaster (Mayweather), yet unwilling to even talk about making the Lara fight. Because Lara's Golovkin's size too.
This disingenuous POS at it again. Hey a$$hole, Chavez' manager confirmed Arum offered him 7m for GGG, with single fight extension worth 10m if he won, 5 if he lost. That's way better than sitting out making nothing, then getting destroyed by a no name tune-up to pathetic ratings for way less money. Does it compute, idiot?

Say what you want I don't believe that he is so small mw that he can't move up one single division.
Many Golovkin fans come all the time with Golovkin's amateur this and amateur that, like it would count. Don't you want to count his amateur record in his pro record too?
If he is the monster you hype him up to then he shouldn't have problem with go one north.
Many Golovkin fans have serious double standards.
They wait from Mayweather, Cotto and other accomplished fighter to challenge themsrlves again and again like they would be the oned who need prove more, they're bashing them if they don't fight next the fighter they think the most dangerous them, at the same time thex give pass to Golovkin - who proved way less than the criticized guys - for EVERYTHING. They don't set him the same stabdards they don't wait from him to challenge himself against the most dangerous opponents, thex give him pass everytime because the so called "ducking" from the side of the elite opponents. They act like Golivkin would be a incapable individual who completely influenced by his environment and can't do nothin for his own good. It's easy to blame always others. They bash guys whi proved themselves against ELITE opponents several times and they praise Golovkin who hasn't done that yet.

Golovkin is no exception, he needs to prove himself too just like ecerybod has to. Period.

Ok. But I don't want to hear complaints when anyone refuses to fight GGG because the "financials" aren't ok.

The financials are OK with guys like Canelo, Cotto, Froch, Chavez formerly. These are all ppv, lots of money to go around, with GGG taking B side money. Like for Chavez, he was offered less than 30%, which came out to 2.5m + upside.

I don't expect anyone to fight GGG for free or vice versa.
Any fighter who doesn't want to make the most money possible is an idiot.
The money has to be there or certain fights won't happen, but fighters need to be realistic about the market too.
GGG and Ward on their own aren't PPV fighters, they aren't PPV fighters if they fight each other yet either.
It's no secret that both are looking for a big PPV fight.
It's why Ward and GGG both wanted to fight Chavez Jr. It's why GGG says he will fight Floyd...it's why Ward said he'd go to 160 for Floyd lol

The problem is that nobody at 168 wants to fight him.

He tried to get Chavez and Froch without success and Ward still hasn't had his "couple of tune ups" or even decided if he is staying at 168 or moving up himself.

GGG should stay at 160 and focus on unification.

Golovkin tried to get big money fights "south" and "north". Only Ward said he would fight him, but now Ward says that he is still to decide if he stays at 168 or not. (Note: Lara isn't a big money fight at 154 or 160).
