So, Paulie M., please check it out, and then let us know what you have found.
I also recall GGG stating during a post fight interview that he would love to fight the likes of Miguel Cotto so that he can unify at 160 then look towards fighting Ward.

Paul doesn't follow boxing outside of the PBC alternate universe where guys fight at any weight they want, and if they're overweight they just cry "MUH PLUS 1!" lol

Lemeiux and Lee be like "but we gotta fight our mandatories tho" and Cotto be like "**** my mandatory". Ward be like 'no can do' to HBO and then turn around and do interviews acting like he ain't said that. Froch is gonna try and ride this 'will i/won't i' wave for as long as people will pretend that he might come out of retirement to fight GGG. We already know Quillin ain't want it unless it's coming with more money than it can bring...Basically anyone will say whatever it takes to get out of GGG's way.

anyway, ward's "fans" seem to want this fight more than he does. ward himself seems in no rush to make the fight happen. he even declined it once

It sounds like damage control. He should verify what his manager said in the media.
When HBO calls GGG out on it, I'll stop believing it.

While the window point is plausible, you know GGG at 154 serves 2 purposes for the Manny/GGG/Kovalev/Wlad group of fans on NSB:

                1. allows them to avoid politics and call Floyd a ducker for a fight they think he loses but knows cant be made because of the same politics they cite preventing other fights

                2. they can say GGG was drained if the fight gets made and he loses

Good attempt at trying to make the reasoning valid.

if it was false, ward would have rebuffed it by now. he would have called out golovkin after the paul smith fight

for the record, i think ward's stance towards the fight is totally reasonable - what bugs me are the "fans" who call golovkin a coward or ducker because moving up for a non-ppv fight is lower on his list of priorities than cleaning out the division he actually fights in

Aaaaaa bollex!! No matter what way you match them up someone will be calling bloody murder... if GGG comes down to 154,he gets no cred for a win, picking on smaller guys bla bla bla, if he loses, floyd gets no cred because GGG was "weight drained" etc... the same whit ward if he was to come down to face GGG, now what i think is none of those fights will happen, GGg waits till he has cleared the MW divsion to move up,by that time, ward will have gone up,mayweather will be well retired, and their will be a new kid and fights to focus on

First of all, ward isn't p4p #2,and he hasn't been in the list for a while,so stop trying to bring ward back to the # 2 spot with a win over Paul Smith. Second of all,its not just some welterweight that ggg wants to fight, its the number one fighter in the world, and it would be at a weight which floyd has fought at 3 times before, and holds multiple belts at that weight.Floyd hasn't been a 130 lb fighter for more than a decade, so stop making it look like Floyd is some kind of lightweight. Ggg is willing to move down 6 lbs to Floyd's weight class, and make the biggest fight possible, but instead delusional ward fans want him to jump up 8 or 12 lbs to fight ward at 168 or 172 (who the hell knows what he's fighting at) for nickles and dimes. It's funny because instead of crying for ggg to move up in weight, you guys should ask ward to move up 3 lbs and actually test himself with kovalev,Stevenson Artur, or pascal, instead of fighting blown up 168 lb fighters coming off two loses,at a 172 catch weight.
