when commentators have an agenda...as if Floyd doesn't have belts at 54 since 2007. In any case, who the **** moves away from Canelo/Cotto at their natural weight class to fight Ward? I expect Golovkin will move up when his division gets cleaned out...something Ward did years ago, yet refuses to move up.

And Golovkin-Ward is more marketable than Golovkin-Mayweather? lol

Its still not the subject of THIS article. This about GGG's refusal to go up one weightclass for P4P#2 but wants a WW, whose fought as low as 130, to go back up for him. Why not fight the guy closer to your own size?

Mayweather, who turned pro at super featherweight, has captured titles in five weight divisions. Golovkin is wiling to drop down to the junior middleweight limit of 154-pounds to make the fight. The last time Mayweather, who holds the WBC/WBA titles at 154, fought at the full division limit was in 2012 against Miguel Cotto. A fight with Saul "Canelo" Alvarez, in 2013, was at a catch-weight of 152. Both Canelo and Cotto are smaller fighters when compared to Golovkin.

GGG is not interested in fighting anybody below 154, not even Mayweather. GGG will fight Mayweather at 154, so if Mayweather wants that fight then Mayweather is going to have to agree to 154. GGG is a middleweight. Andre Ward just fought Smith, who is a bum, and Smith buckled Ward's knees in the sixth. GGG would have wiped the floor with Ward.

Why is Paulie M. confused? GGG said yes when asked by HBO about fighting Ward. Ward said no when asked by HBO about fighting GGG. This info came from GGG, Paulie, so if you doubt it, check sources at HBO for verification. I cannot see why GGG would lie about this matter as it would be easy to verify. So, Paulie M., please check it out, and then let us know what you have found.

Floyd can find opponents at 147 and 154 so he isn't in the same boat as GGG claims to be. Since GGG can't, making a Ward fight seems like a better option than fighting guys who are not much of a challenge.

Hopefully, they will fight before the year is out.
I think its more of a case that Floyd is retiring and many fans would like to see him up against GGG before he calls it quits. GGG/Ward can always happen but the window for Floyd to fight GGG might close after Sept.

if he can make 154 lbs then technically mayweather is his own size

if ward really wants the golovkin fight, why not move to 160 lbs, or at least 164 lbs?

Ggg would be the one moving down to an unnatural weight to fight mayweather, not the other way around. Then he says why doesn't ggg move up to 168 to fight ward but currently ward is fighting at 175 where kovalev fights so ward wouldn't have to move any weight class at all to fight his best opponent. The only reason Paulie is still getting fights is because he is a haymon/mayweather d rider like so many on here
Mayweather has NEVER made the 154 limit, fought last in the class at 152, and hasn't fought at the weight in about 2 years. For all intents and purposes Mayweather is not a JMW.

                    So that makes it true.

It sounds like damage control. He should verify what his manager said in the media.
