Floyd being a diva, and ofcourse:
Mayweather said he tore his left rotator cuff two days before the first fight and couldn't throw a jab or a left hook. He had surgery following the controversial decision over Castillo and he said his shoulder is completely healed now. Castillo, a 3-1 underdog, said Mayweather was just making excuses. "His problem wasn't his shoulder or his hands," Castillo said. "It was the guy standing across from him.Last edited by SplitSecond; 06-27-2015, 02:51 PM.Comment

But where did he even say that? For an injury that is as serious as Team Pacquiao was selling it, there should be no way possible that Pacquiao would be in any consideration to fight this year, let alone early next year.
Even if Pacquiao's self-diagnosis is off by a factor of two, he'd still be in line to having a full 15-week fight camp and still step into the ring before Christmas.
Why you continue to push Floyd resting his shoulder for five months (followed by a 12-week camp before the rematch, and at the age of 25) as being equivalent to Pacquiao apparently going under the knife and being recovered in half the time, at the age of 36 no less, is a bit sketchy.
self-diagnosis or otherwise.Comment

It doesn't matter whether or not his shoulder is fully healed by November, his team already stated that he won't be fighting again until 2016. This along with the threats of a million-dollar lawsuit only serves to detract any further speculation of a 2015 ring return.Comment

Simple glance at the calendar; Pacquiao stated that he believes that his should would be fine in two months, putting him on course to mid August. If that ends up being the case, Pacquiao is still looking at a 20-week window to close out the year.
Give Pacquiao a standard 12-week camp, and he'd be looking at an extra eight weeks to work with, expecting a PPV on Christmas weekend; bump the timeline to the assumed November date in Macau and Pacquiao would have an extra month of healing on top of his own expectation of being ready by August.
Unless Pacquiao is just full of ****, which is a distinct possibility, if his shoulder is ready by August (as he's stated), there's no way that he doesn't fight again this year.Comment

Bob Arum was running around, parroting the point that the damage to Paacquiao's shoulder was similar to the shoulder injury suffered by Kobe Bryant, a injury that looks like will keep Kobe off of a basketball court for at least ten months (cautious optimism has Kobe back on the court October/November 2015).
Manny Pacquiao had his surgery in May, and is talking about, in his own mind, being ready to get back to boxing with four months.
How you square that circle in your own mind is beyond me.Comment
