It was more of a gift decision. Ugly Kid was given the sympathy vote by the judges.

I think a gift is a bit of a stretch, I feel it could have gone either way but i see your point.

It was a clear Groves win. Degale was outboxed in the early rounds, did good in the mid rounds, but was edged in rounds 11 and 12. Groves wanted it more and it showed.

As for a rematch I could understand Degale not wanting it. Groves has his number, beaten him twice already and would likely beat him again.

If ever a fight should have been called a draw it's DeGale/Groves.

I watched it 3 times back then and couldn't separate them. A couple of months ago, after reading some comments about it here, I decided to watch it again. And this time, no sitting on the fence, I was going to call it, one way or the other.

But some fights are just so close you can't call them, unless you flip a coin, and Groves vs DeGale is one of them. Groves just got lucky with the judging, and that's it.

Groves already turned down £2.5m to fight DeGale again

DeGale has been wanting the rematch ever since the gift was given to Groves in the first fight and Ugly Kid has ran from it harder than he ran on fight night.

I agree with Froch when he says that Degale would be an easy fight for him. Froch is'nt a guy that is going to stop until someone is knocked out or the final bell rings. I've seen nothing in Degale that shows me he could deal with Froch for 12 rounds.

yea i agree, i could see degale winning a couple of early rounds,
but even that depends on the way froch starts,
but say for arguement sake he wins the first early rounds,
he will have to hit froch hard to keep him off,
and as you saw in the dirrell fight after a couple of round of power punching he was gassed, im happy he won the title but he just about got away with it imo...

Carl? Is that you? Degale won that fight clearly,no "just about got away with it" he was up 4 rounds after 6 and won the last 2 clearly.
