Lemieux vs GGG would be a freakiing awesome fight and, of course, I'd love to see it happen next.

But thinking about it from the perspective of the fighters and the promoters, it would make sense for Lemieux to raise his profile a little higher outside Canada with another win or two first.

And who knows what's going to happen with the WBC belt? I have a feeling GGG will end up being elevated to WBC and Ring lineal champ without fighting either Canelo or Cotto.

GGG vs Lemieux, a real shoot-out, for the undisputed and lineal MW titles would be something else.

Lemieux has improved a lot since he fought Rubio. He was tighter and looked much fitter against N'Dam. I think GGG would beat him, but if Lemieux caught him flush, no telling what would happen. That's why fights between punchers with genuine power are so exciting.

Edit: In my excitement, I clean forgot about the WBO belt.

They should just put up the cash to make the unification. Once GGG has two belts he becomes much more enticing to the other champions.

Same excuse Golovkin used for Lara and Ward. Don't dish it then cry when it applies to you.

Lemieux vs Golovkin would sell out Bell Centre (Montreal) in about 5 minutes.
... Plus the PPV units on HBO Canada...

              ..."if financials are correct"...

Lemieux saying he'll take the fight, but the promoter will say not yet. GB's not giving up their foothold on the Montreal market for a one-time payment vs Golovkin. Personally I'm fine, this is a fight that could grow alot more giving these two guys violent styles.

Lemieux/N'Dam would've been on HBO and not FS2 if not for some interfering politics. His future fights will be on HBO.

on paper this is such an awesome fight, although i suspect that golovkin's heavy jab will set the pace. considering that this will surely do 1.5m-1.7m viewers on hbo and draw a big crowd in montreal, i'm sure it can be paid for

Lemieux is ducking with the statement "If financials are fine.'' What would be fine for him? Say what you want and if they give it to you then take the fight. I have a feeling that if GGG offered 80% of the purse, the financials would still not be fine.

Wrong. Golovkin never said anything even similar for Lara and Ward. Don't make up crap because you don't like Golovkin. Bet you can't find any proof to back up your statement.
