Boxing fans and media mostly have been rough on Danny Garcia, deservedly so sometimes.

Garcia grew to accept that harsh reality long ago. The undefeated fighter from Philadelphia wisely has used the near-constant criticism as motivation during his reign as a junior welterweight champion.

The 27-year-old Garcia (30-0, 17 KOs) just wishes he got as much credit for his signature victories over heavily favored Lucas Matthysse and Amir Khan as he gets grief for debatable majority decision wins against Mauricio Herrera and Lamont Peterson and his decision last summer to fight absurdly overmatched Rod Salka.

Wait, but I wake up every day and go to work year round. I also wake up everyday, go to work, and then go to the gym afterwards about 6 days a week.
Do I deserve the same love or more? lol.

Honestly, Garcia got his head up his butt if he thinks he won't be criticized after getting gift decisions and taking on shoddy competition. It's the way boxing works.

Until he goes out there and wins convincingly and fighting TOUGH competition more often, the criticism won't end.

He does get a lot if unwarranted hate. He has a better resume than golovkin but he fought salka so all the sudden he's the worlds biggest cherry picker

it's his own fault for taking his foot off the gas after the matthysse win. he was well on his way to p4p status, arguably in the bottom half already, but then he goes and puts in two awful performances against herrera and peterson and faces salka, the most overmatched boxer i've ever seen in a title fight

1. He beat Matthysse. Matthysse had enough hype to turn people against Garcia after that.

2. He's had 2 fights since that not a small amount of people think he lost. Nothing turns fans against boxers like gifts/robberies.

Funny hearing him saying that when it's his own fault and his team around him. No doubt his stock has fallen in the last 2 years. Fights like Salka were a complete disgrace and NEVER should of happened. Most feel he lost to Herrera and some feel he lost to Peterson yet he isn't giving any of them rematches. He told Herrera he wasn't going to fight him again because he was moving up to 147 his next fight and yet a year and a half before he actually moved up. He went a long time without defending his belt instead holding the belt hostage with catchweight fights. These are just some of the reasons why the fans and media don't love him more. And fighting a pillow fisted paulie who in his prime wasn't all that but is now old and coming off a devastating beat down won't do anything to get fans to love you more.
