Got offered millions to fight a couple of showcase fights like Salka. Hell, $2million for an easy nights work after you've pretty much cleaned up? I'd take it.

This is the reason we get fight like Garcia vs Carlos Molina next.

You're right about Chavez SR but he also fought 5-6 times a year so it's a bit more forgivable than a person who fights 2 times max. Just putting that into perspective.

He fought a lot more, but he's not right. Chavez may have had stay busy fights, as still happened more then, but his competition gets massively underrated for some reason.

He fought so many great fighters that people just repeat the nonsense they hear about him without even knowing 1/50th of the guys he fought.

It's just what happens when you go from getting KO's against good fighters on HBO and being on everyone's list of favorite guys to watch, to getting a gift decision on Showtime, following it up with a catchweight showcase, and then another catchweight fight on NBC with a questionable decision.
