He's really, really bad. He's also on a losing streak. Fans of Ward should accept that Smith was a terrible opponent and not really a good measuring stick for anything except how hard you can hit a heavy bag and for how long.
Well right, I agree. Smith was coming off back to back losses, Golovkin never fought anyone coming off losses like that.

well that's not really possible with a 2 million dollar minimum. the only network overspending right now is pbc and pbc and roc nation don't work together. it looks like purgatory for ward for awhile. this is what happens when you overpay fighters.

MANY other fighters in the past have been out for at least as long and did not need to fight someone on Smith's level upon their return. Some fighters, like Leonard and Floyd, were out for considerably longer periods and came back right into a title fight. And Ward has made a big point to say that he has kept himself in top shape by constantly working out in the gym and keeping his skills in top condition.

In today's boxing world, many fighters have breaks of a year or more between fights and do not come back against totally crap competition like Smith. Even the most rabid of Ward fans cannot deny that Smith did not give a crap about this fight and never intended to give his best. He came for a payday, not for a fight.
ward beat everyone that was put in front of him and earned his crown as the best super middleweight in the world..hes a mismatch for anyone at 168..the only flaw in his style is that basic casual fans wont necessarily appreciate his boxing acumen..ward looked sharp and is still the truth..hes the only person i see beating ggg at the moment.
