Floyd wants to see Spence get knock out by Thurman, Porter and Spence is a toss up

First, let me say this would be an awesome fight, that's not in doubt.
With that said, I don't understand why this fight should happen next. I don't see why/how Thurman would serve as Spence's step up fight. Seems to me Thurman shouldn't be the one fighting an up and comer and that he should be getting a big fight by now. Hasn't he been mandatory to Floyd for a while now? If not a Floyd fight, he should be getting guys like Khan, Brook, Maidana, Porter. He's not a gatekeeper like Berto or some guy who's hit a wall, he should be moving forward, not backwards fighting an up and comer.
And Spence, he's one of the best young talents in the game but who knows how he'll deal with Thurman, maybe it's too much too soon and he loses. I'd rather see Spence fight guys like Berto next, rather than go straight to a Thurman fight after never really facing a top opponent yet.
Basically this fight makes little sense right now. Still a very intriguing fight don't get me wrong, I just question if it's smart for either fighter.Comment

Thurman is good but far from the boogeyman you all make him out to be.
Mayweather and Spence obviously believe he's ready for the big time so why not? I can understand Thurman not wanting to fight Spence, but the truth is Keith knows the threat. If it were a no hoper, Thurman wouldn't object to the "tune up".
Spence's skills were good enough to give Floyd a nice shiner. I think he touches Keith up.Comment

That's the same thing most of us say when we hear Thurman name linked to better names, fact is anything can happen in there.lol if Spence's people really wanna put him in there with Thurman right now, I have zero doubt that Thurman takes the fight. Spence is clearly a quality fighter, but he hasn't even fought a C level opponent yet, there's absolutely no way his people would let him take this fight. Even a Porter fight might be a bit too early.Comment

Same way the better names at 147 looks at Keith doe, he is a high risk no reward to them too, that didn't stop posters from calling them cowards, should we be calling Thurman a coward too now? Funny when the shoe is on the other foot ain't it?Comment
