  • Maidana scared broner for life

he fought scared tonight, afraid of being punched. mentally, he is ruined. he even said that he won't take punishment from now on in his career, really difficult thing to do when you are a boxer. and for the lovers of the sweet science, yes. broner ran all night long.

Sorry, but Broner was never great and he actually looked better in the couple fights following the Maidana loss. Chino deserves credit for a great win but he did nothing to "scare" him for life. Broner was never elite.

Marcos has nothing to do with it. Broner has fought his whole career fighting smaller guys. He has relied on his power exclusively. You can see it when he throws his punches. He's taking pictures. Throwing his hands up like he landed a huge fight ending bomb.

Yes, you can definitely see that the Maidana fight just ruined him, in terms of willingness to let his hands go. Kind of similar to Ortiz. Personally, never really thought much of Broner, since his good victories were due in part to the huge size advantage he had against opponents. Don't know how people can measure Broner positively as a fighter, since the Maidana fight. All those fights have been against pretty poor opposition. Ultimately, this only hurts him because once it's time to step up he gets beat. Yes, Broner is fighting scared now, very tentative. He used to a very offensive minded fighter. Not anymore, pretty much done.

Yeah some of those shots that bounced off Porter would have hurt or TKO'd the lightweights.

No, he looked terrible vs Paulie too. He looks horrible when he can't bully small fighters. Maidana/Porter both WWs who can give a shot and take one. They also know how to box and slug. Paulie was outboxing him but he has NO power which allowed Broner to impose himself more.

Emmanuel Taylor - who also gave "The Problem" problems at times during the fight. But Broner was much more active in that fight.
