I personally feel that it comes down to ethics and dedication. The European boxers seem to want to succeed more, they work harder, they give it everything and they are outworking Americans. It's the same in education and business. Americans tend to have an entitlement attitude where Europeans tend to have a give 100% no matter what level you are on.

If a company is going to invest a lot of money to market someone, it is a much safer bet to invest on a solid commodity, not some hyped up kid that shows promise at a young age that has to be coddled and molded into a star.
That's just my take on it, plus the support in general for boxing is much stronger in immigrant communities in America, so European boxers tend to have larger followings.

I think Foreigners are just CHEAPER? They don't have no Bargaining Chips nor can they make demands. They will do what ever HBO wants them to do and take what ever HBO offers them. American fighters because of Mayweather and Haymon (which is why HBO hates them), they're a lot wiser when it comes to the BUSINESS SIDE of boxing now. HBO can no longer pull a fast one over American Fighters so now their focus is on International Talent and I think that is a good thing because Boxing is more Global now than it ever was!

The Downside is that the pay won't go very high for the foreigners compared to the rest of boxing. HBO will keep their pay at a Limit they won't cross, that is when you try to go to PPV, well selling PPV's for a fighter that is not American and him not fighting a great American Fighter...that will be a tough sell to Casual Americans.

You know why he was inactive stop acting like it was done on purpose. The man was dealing with issues with Goossen Promotions that is common knowledge. If that wasn't the case then clearly he would have stayed more active. Stop with the "OH THE DESIRE AND DEDICATION". Everybody knows Ward story and now that he is back why are people PRETENDING like he was away for a long time ON PURPOSE

That's a stretch... Pacquiao, Cotto, Canelo, Crawford, JMM... HBO likes all of these and none of them post Soviet.

You're a dummy if you seriously think that. Ward was inactive because promoter issues. Those problems solved with Roc Nation and next promotional deal. Get it? It's not complicated.

True but I argued with your statement that they only invest in post-Soviet fighters. That's not true in that form.
