no controversy at all. tito was a beast and too much for vargas. he also ended david reid's career.

        Joppy
        Reid
        Campos
        Camacho
        Whittaker
        Etc
        Etc

All fougth tito, and watched his hands get wrapped, no one ever had a complaint, then hopkins playing mind games, made tito rewrap.... Then afterwards, years later, guys like vargas and joppy tried to claim tito was cheating, but in reality, their corners watched tito wrap and had no problems...

And there is this BS that tito was never the same after the wraps, which is complete garbage....

He won his next fight after hopkins by ko
He stopped the raging matador mayorga
        Got outpointed by winky
And went up huge in weight and lost to roy jones...

So basically he was 2-2 with 2 ko's after the wrap scandal,,,, and who the hell has ever stopped winky, and the roy fight was a cash grab farce....
On top of that. Layoff before most of those fights after Bhop & Jones was at 175 ffs.

His power came from his absolute full commitment to his punches. He never pulled his punches. Dude was just gifted, naturally strong and mentally an animal who actually loved his job. That an combo very hard to beat. In fact he only got beat by movng up a few weight classes to fight all the boogiemen of his era. Hopkins, wright and even Roy jones. Trinidad till this is a boxing God. Notwithstanding his loses he gave us is all in every fight and gave us the improbable fights we all crave today. Trinidad fighting Hopkins and jones is like mayweather fighting ggg. Sure we all want to see it but it's not a smart move for the smaller guy. Trinidad to his credit didn't give a damn and gave it to us. He should not be subjected to bs allegations and should be honored as the soldier he was.
Pacquiao has the same speed/snap/punch through you, much more so than Trinidad actually. Felix's fist looked far too hard to be natural. It really looked like he was hitting guys with a rock. It might've just been amazing handwrapping technique, but it definitely wasn't natural or the norm. I wouldn't be surprised if he had some Marg padding in there but just never got caught.

I've been rewatching a lot of Tito's fights as of late so this topic has me interested. Considering Tito had a high KO% and brutalized fighters, you would think he would of been straight up caught in the act if he were actually cementing his wraps. I highly doubt it.

What I'm more intrigued of is the hand wrap technique. To me, there is nothing cheating about wrapping your hands or making it "tighter". I mean what the hell does that even mean? Hand wraps usually are done tight. It seems like people are just pulling at straws to stain Tito's career without any straight up actual proof provided. A lot of, he does this or that from sore fighters and no actual proof.

Anyone got any new ideas here? Rewatching Tito vs Campas, Tito vs Vargas, Tito vs Joppy. Straight up beast. I ultimately feel like he just threw his hooks with so much damn power into them and speed, that, that was devastating more than anything. You don't see fighters today come forward nonstop leading with a damn hook the way Tito was. Tito was vicious as f**k with the hooks and hook converted uppercut. Crazy animal in his prime.

The guy who caught the wrap, Naazim Richardson, even said it was basically a technicality. The wraps are legal everywhere but NY.

Tito was clean. Dude just hit real hard.
