So can someone explain to me the Tito Trinidad hand wraps controversy?

I've seen it talked about on here but honestly I don't know the details on it. All I know is he was being accused of using hand wraps against Vargas. How did the wraps benefit him when he fought? Was he using this tactic throughout his career? Did he actually get caught?

I had a talk with Vargas this week when I visit his gym. That was the ice breaker convo I used. I brought up the video where he said hed have a few words with Tito if he saw him again.

I was caught up in the moment as a fan but here a few things he told me:

- His team complained because the kind of wraps he used would harden when wet - said they were told to stop complaining and were taken out of the dressing room

- Told me Tito cried after the fight and apologized as if he had done something wrong

- Said Titos punches felt like baseball bats "he yelled boom boom" loud as **** as he was explaining

- Said he only remembers fragments of the fight, thats how ****ed up he got

Thats what I can remember. Im going back to his gym next week to buy a shirt because they didnt have the shirt I wanted in stock. Ill check if I can ask hik further and hopefully record it like I did at the Mayweather Gym.

Well, I want to know the actual issue. If it somehow gave him an edge on someone else than I can see why people are protesting it. I'm sure they are some boxers here that can chime in and elaborate on what are the benefits if there are any.
