As someone who isn't a Floyd fan, who has rooted against Floyd many times, and would've rooted for Margarito had they fought -- I can say with the utmost confidence that Antonio Margarito would have no f**king shot whatsoever of beating Floyd. Any version of Floyd. Hell today's Floyd would whitewash a prime Margarito for f**k's sake.

yup. I've seen their arguments. "Margarito is slow and plodding, mayweather wins easily, no need de to debate about this fight." ignoring all other factors why this fight is going to be dangerous for floyd.

That mentality is really not something to be proud of. Margarito has all the tools that puts him in the position to beat Mayweather. Size, Chin, Stamina, ability to cut off the ring, power, unerelenting pressure. in 2008 in the Cotto fight, they have spoken in utmost confidence that Cotto is going to stop Margarito, that even if Margarito pressures, Cotto would just pivot out of the away and be too slick. And what happened? Cutts of the ring and pounded him on to submission.

You noticed that those who says "Margarito has no shot, he's slow and plodding." Have no break down on how the fight goes. But most of the posters who said "Yes, Margo was a threat." had reasons and breakdowns of the fight like LoadedWraps.

I don't like Floyd, but I would never say that "He stands no chance against Sugar Ray Leonard." Because from what I have seen, Floyd had some tools to beat Leonard.

Mayweather has Bette footwork and is quicker than all of them

Margo has no head movement. Which is why even Mosley, who isn't know for the jab constantly peppered him with straight shots, as did cotto, Williams....may weather had the sharpest straight rights out of the punch and his jab to the head and liver would keep him honest


Add the fact he was the best counterpuncher of his generation

Also add he was the most elusive best defense


Margo throws conventional punches and he doesn't vary the speed of his jab nor trajectory.... He'll be getting countered all night and turned every which way swinging @ air.....what will surprise him mayweather has a great inside game and body shots. Margo would land 20% or less...dude isn't accurate as a Castillo or as skilled so that whole comparison is waaay of. Castillo actually uses various defensive skills, rolls and parries shots, counters, could fight inside n out. Margo fights one way and is predictable
