Man, Golovkin ruffles some feathers on this site.

I'm not even that big of a Golovkin fan but it's always the same people in every thread trying to discredit him. It's very transparent who they are and what their agenda is. Instead of enjoying him and his consistently entertaining fights they're unduly angry at the guy who sets out to fight the best available 7,000 miles from home 4 times a year.
I can understand disliking someone arrogant, boring, boastful, unentertaining and risk-averse, but they will rabidly and angrily take shots at someone who the opposite of all this.
Anyhow, taking back to topic, Golovkin hasn't been a full champion for long so impressive though the statistics are, I think the comparison is probably a little bit bogus.Comment

My post was in reference to those criticizing the opponents of Golovkin thus far. He's viewed as too high of a risk with not a high enough reward. This is much more than sport, this is a job for these guys so if they have the ability to take fights where the outcome is their favor then that's what they're going to do. They want to secure the rate of the earnings and some of these guys might not believe that the outcome vs. GGG is in their favor enough to take the risk and subsequently resulting in them taking long-term damage physically and/or mentally. Boxers are pride fighters, but absolutely prize fighters. And FWIW I appreciate Golovkin's career so far. His opponents have been decent and he has done very well against them and has stayed respectively active. Can't ask for moreComment

Yeah. It's not going to change no matter who GGG knocks out. Dude could knock out ***** along with an entire row of secret service agents and he'd still get hate. The people who call for GGG to move up in weight would just as quickly downgrade the SMW division as soon as he arrived there. There's no point in trying to appease the few people who aren't on board. Let them enjoy their coveted PBC.Comment
