Everything hinges on him facing the Cotto Vs Canelo winner though. He needs that big name fight now. So, if that one can't be made..he may well have to move up a division to get the bigger fights.

Out of interest, who would people want to see him face if the Cotto or Canelo fight can't be made? (Although he would probably face whoever the WBC chose if Cotto vacated).

160 : Quillin. Lee Vs Saunders winner. N'Dam vs Lemeiux winner.
168 : Ward (i wouldn't back on this fight being made). Froch ( i imagine he will retire). Abraham Vs Stieglitz winner. DeGale. Groves. Dirrell?
I think the lemuiex/Ndam winner will be his last fight of the year. There is no way he is fighting either cotto or canelo in 2015 IMO.

Cotto is fighting either Canelo in Nov or Floyd in Sept. Canelo, if he can't make the cotto fight, surely isn't going to fight GGG right now.

GGG has been on his "CAN TOUR" too long....he's not gonna cash a big check any time soon....he's too big and too risky for the money trains he's been campaigning for....it is what it is!!
Myself, i don't have any infatuation with Golovkin. I'm a fan yes, but i want to see him in good fights. I don't want to see him facing inadequate opposition forever. I'm not like the Garcia fan's for example.
As i said in my original post..'he needs the big fights now'.

I agree with you, the guys he's chasing don't want to face him, which isn't his fault. That's why i think he will have to move up if he wants the big fights/pay days..as the guys up there will probably be more willing to engage.

Yeah i agree mate. I don't see Canelo or Cotto facing GGG any time soon. In all honesty, i'm not sure i see either of those guys taking that fight period.
      Hopefully i'm wrong on that.

Thinking about it, i actually quiet like the Lemuiex/N'Dam winner Vs GGG.

At this point does anyone really care?
We know he won't be in there with anybody good. He is waiting for a Cotto-Canelo fight that might never happen. Why not do a catch weight fight with some of the guys at 168?

It is not GGG's fault that no big names will step in the ring with him. GGG wants to stay active and so he is forced to fight the best that he can find at middle weight. GGG still has lots of time. He will be in his prime for at least 3 more years. They all can't avoid him for that long. Cotto is a joke for hanging onto the middle weight belt and then stating he is not a middle weight just to avoid GGG.

If Lemieux beats N'dam, which I think he will, then perhaps Oscar De LaHoya will let him fight GGG but I doubt it. Cotto is going to vacate the belt before he gets his butt handed to him by GGG. Oscar also has said that Canelo will not fight GGG for at least two years. GGG is doing his best to stay active with the best that will step into the ring with him. GGG has already tried to negotiate with Carl Froch ast 168 but for some reason Froch has suddenly gone cold to the idea. I think Froch realized that GGG just may be too much to handle, even for him. Ward hasn't earned a shot at GGG yet. GGG will likely also win that one. Next year will be the big year for GGG. So he stays active and has a couple of more fights this year and then cleans up the top names next year. They can't duck him forever. Canelo has been fighting the last three times at 155. You got to think that is because he has trouble making 154. He is still young and growing himself into a war with GGG. Sooner or later it will happen.

Cotto knows that GGG would hand him his butt. So Cotto will vacate his belt rather than fight GGG. I don't think Oscar De LaHoya will let Lemiex fight GGG but hopefully I am wrong. Oscar is protecting Canelo from GGG and says that fight won't happen for a couple of years. They are trying to wait until GGG is 40 years old. But even at 40 GGG will beat them all. GGG is an alien.

Why not? Lemieux is a puncher and GGG can be hit. Lemieux doesn't have an O to protect. Oscar's betting on HBO and this fight would make HBO happy. Nothing else even close for Lemieux in terms of the money. And getting stopped by GGG is hardly a disgrace. Until GGG is beaten no-one really knows just how good he is. I hope HBO, Oscar and Loeffler can agree on the money...

it's not completely out of the question, but it's more likely that gbp use lemieux to transfer the ibf into alvarez's hands. if the wbc strip cotto before the canelo clash, then i could see golovkin getting first dibs on lemieux while canelo masquerades as a junior middle for a while longer. if canelo wins the wbc, they will probably allow him to postpone his mandatory with golovkin by unifying with lemieux - and then once canelo has the ibf he can vacate the wbc (or, if we want to be optimistic, at that point golovkin and canelo can have a huge unification in summer 2016 for undisputed status)

ODLH would probably let Lemeuix fight GGG if he backed down from the WBC and took step aside. Also Lemeuix is fighting on a channel almost nobody has.... I don't think that's what he had in mind when he signed with an American promoter. Also don't think HBO will put on any fight with him vs anybody else since it'd cost more money for a fight that does nothing for them and they're already talking about budget restraints.

if it's not GGG's fault...then who does the blame land on?...and you BETTER say his promoter!!

Cotto was NEVER a true MW....he just weighed in under the JMW limit for his last fight...so what he stated was FACTUAL!!...GGG's brand is built off this boogyman myth that EVERYONE is avoiding him....which is soooooo untrue!!...when Ward's name is thrown in his direction people use the BUSINESS angle to shoot down the fight....so if that's the case, GGG is not good business for Cotto or Nelo....let him go headline a few PPV's and then halla back....it's business right?
