I was just trying to illustrate this to an idiot ("funny style" or something like that) on another thread!

You "WANT" GGG to act like he's the man, and fight a nobody in September instead of moving that date in pursuit if a mega-fight with Andre Ward! GGG should beat Ward first, THEN act like an "A-Side" fighter, making demands, etc. Until he beats a real champion, he can't do ****!
"Ward still wants that GGG fight"

Ward has never done or said anything to indicate that he ever wanted to fight GGG. He's said that he would fight him - after a couple of tune ups - if GGG wanted it, and that's all.

"Basically GGG can be the B-side to Ward, or the A-side to TBD."

Why should GGG settle for being the B side to Ward?

Because of his inactivity, Ward is no longer the Ring lineal SMW champ, and no longer a P4P rated fighter.

GGG is on the P4P list now and is better known, a better draw, and has a lot more fans.

And GGG vs Ward would not be a "mega fight", not by any stretch of that term, to anybody but hard core fans like us. At the moment, it's high risk, low reward for both men, which is why I don't believe it will happen this year, if ever.

I guess you didn't see the post from Boxing News, where Jim Lampley said Ward wanted GGG badly. It's OK, because that was back in the day, before the legal issues. I guess everyone feels GGG is the A-side, but I don't see it, definitely not in his resume or viewership. You're probably right about the mega-fight too, because if GGG was a star, Floyd would be fighting him in September.

Geducky? Really, that's the best you can come up with? That doesn't even make sense, nor does it ryme or sound funny, and I've heard ****** **** like "bumlovkin" before. If you're going to hate, put in a little more effort.

Ward will never take the fight unless it is 50/50, but I don't think he even deserves that. The split is all about the asses you can put in seats and GGG crushes Ward in that area and GGG's momentum is only growing as we speak. What Ward thinks he is worth is based on him being one of the best fighters in the world, but considering his quality as a fighter he is probably the worst draw in boxing. Revenue does'nt get generated based on your resume. Ward has never grasped the concept that boxing is entertainment, or he just does'nt care. Either way his star power is utter ****.

A fresh campaign at light heavyweight is what Ward should be looking to do.

It's very aggravating the way Ward prefers to rest on his laurels. He is a fantastic fighter but he should be extending his legacy. He's in his early 30's and the next few years are what could define him if he just gets off his pedestal and starts making some tough fights for (probably) way less money than he wants.

It's not ideal but it's just the reality of his situation. I don't know who there is for him to fight other than GGG without moving up to light heavy where there is Kovalev, Adonis, Pascal, and maybe even Bernard. It's the blessing and the curse of having cleaned out his division. Froch isn't going to do it unless Ward concedes a lot.

The fact that more people are wondering what Froch is going to do than Ward should tell Ward something though... Inactivity kills on multiple levels.

You must not have seen the reply I put up when you mentioned the email Lampley recieved in another thread.

Virgil Hunter, Andre's coach, put out a statement saying that neither he nor Ward knew anything about it and that it wasn't Andre's style to call anybody out like that.

Floyd wouldn't fight GGG no matter big a star he was because they are too far apart in weight. And Floyd hasn't needed star opponents for a long time now. He literally could fight a cab driver and it would still be a mega fight.

Like i said, let Ward get his boxing feet back under him and he will be fighting the 175 boys soon.

At 168 he has DeGale, winner of Jack/Groves, and to lesser extent but unfinished business Dirrell. Chavez also "big" fight at 168 but he is in rebuilding stage right now and who knows if that star shines again.

After Wards comeback, we will know whether he is comfortable at supmiddle or not. We may end up seeing a new light heavy contender.

Exactly the bolded part. You have to look no farther than the threads over the last few days to see who garners all the attention. Mention Ward with GGG 400+ replies. Mention Lara with GGG 150 replies and counting. Mention N'dam and Lemieux with GGG and I think that thread is 100+ replies. Mention Ward with Paul smith and like 25 replies. Mention Ward making 168 again and we are at like 20 replies.
