Ward has never done or said anything to indicate that he ever wanted to fight GGG. He's said that he would fight him - after a couple of tune ups - if GGG wanted it, and that's all.
"Basically GGG can be the B-side to Ward, or the A-side to TBD."
Why should GGG settle for being the B side to Ward?
Because of his inactivity, Ward is no longer the Ring lineal SMW champ, and no longer a P4P rated fighter.
GGG is on the P4P list now and is better known, a better draw, and has a lot more fans.
And GGG vs Ward would not be a "mega fight", not by any stretch of that term, to anybody but hard core fans like us. At the moment, it's high risk, low reward for both men, which is why I don't believe it will happen this year, if ever.
