Which is exactly what every single person here including you would do if you were in his shoes. Only a fool would not seek his highest payday.

    • That's their way of saying they won't fight him at junior middleweight. They sure talk **** for a fighter that hasn't had a real ko since 2007. At least ggg knocks people out every time, not RUN to a boring decision.

It's not his fault every "name" fighter is avoiding him. Also, he has to eventually fight somebody, so why not Floyd? Mayweather's name alone will carry the PPV numbers, and at least we'd get a guy big enough to eat up ring space.

He'd clobber Mayweather though. You can only go so big before it becomes a problem.

It would have been fine for Cotto to fight Geale if he had not drained him with a catchweight. That was a gutless tactic and Cotto is a worm for doing it.

GGG does not need Ward, Ward needs GGG. Froch is retiring, Chavez Jr. cannot fight on HBO and already ran away from Golovkin and was destroyed by Fonfara and is no longer a viable opponent.

I will say it one more time and maybe you will understand it...'

COTTO CAN FIGHT ANYONE HE WISHES TO FIGHT AS LONG AS HE VACATES THE WBC MW TITLE FIRST.
If Cotto is forced to vacate, and makes $10 million dollars to fight Canelo or Mayweather, where does that leave GGG? He would be even less likely to get to fight Cotto or Canelo, because he got salty. Without Cotto, Canelo, Chavez Jr., Ward, or Mayweather, will GGG ever get a PPV fight? Sometimes it's better to lose the battle, and yet win the war! I understand your frustration, but you're arguing with emotion, and not intelligence.

          • If the casual fans actually try to stop the hatred for Floyd and his hit and not get hit style go a second to really answer the comment, has GGG beat any top fighter? I know Floyd will always be criticized especially when so many people swore Manny would be a challenge. It was too easy. It's Manny and his team for not be prepared for what the world knew he would box. He has done this his whole career but no one has gotten on Manny! GGG has other champions that he can fight. Andy Lee would beat GGG now!!!! Anyone who beats Floyd will have to make him uncomfortable. That's the only way otherwise it will be how he wants it to be. No one take unnecessary punishment so why would he now?

Golovkin -- who's knocked out his last 20 opponents -- told us Mayweather would be his "dream fight" and is 100% certain he'd win if they ever got in the ring together.

Who is Floyd going to fight instead? Khan who just got a gift decision after being exposed by Algieri?

Floyd doesn't fight unstoppable forces in their prime...plain and simple...
Who has fought Floyd, while Floyd was in his prime? Floyd is older than Manny, Cotto, and Canelo, and yet he beat all 3, and easy too!

Floyd proved nothing in that fight besides he can basically turn any fight into a 10 punch a round type of fight...he definitely did nothing to merit a win..and was dominated in two of the 12 rounds..all the other rounds he basically just avoided exchanges...and this was against a Pac who had surgery days following the fight lol
Yes, that was a win, and an easy one at that! Manny is no match for Floyd, and Arum and Roach have known that for a long time(needles, stadiums, cuts, etc.). Roach should've have moved Manny to 140, like he said he was after Bradley II. You don't go from "moving to 140," to beating the best @ 147, just because you beat Chris Algeri at a CW (yet another CW).

I agree! Floyd should fight GGG @ 154, but GGG would need to fight on Showtime, and I don't think HBO would let that happen. They would want to co-promote, but I can't see that happening either. GGG is really in a bad spot!

I am trying to have a discussion using the FACTS that are available to us. How many times does Loeffler have to say that what Golovkin is interested in is the title, not the fight with Cotto before people will accept it? Golovkin will NEVER get a fight with Cotto. He has already proved himself to be untrustworthy and not a man of his word by not taking his mandatory. He refuses to sign a guarantee to fight GGG if he beats Canelo. Is GGG supposed to take him at his word and take WBC at their word when they have already demonstrated that their word is not worth a damn thing?

Well as Loeffler has stated very clearly, NO, they will not take any chances and will not take anyone at their word. They will require a signed contact before stepping aside.

Canelo and Oscar have already made it clear that they have no intention of putting Canelo in the ring with GGG for another two years or so.

So is GGG supposed to put his plans on hold for another 6 months to a year only to end up in exactly the same place, facing a WBC champion who has no intention of honoring their obligations and having to force them to vacate the title? That would be a foolish thing to do. Much better to force the situation now and get the title now. Then he will be a unified title holder which will give him more leverage when pushing for unification fights with the remaining two title holders.

As for Chavez Jr., Stoolio is no longer a factor or a PPV draw.

Mayweather is retiring in Sept and even if he does stick around, the chances of a GGG - Mayweather fight will be slim but actually improved if GGG holds multiple titles.

Being a multiple title holder will also raise GGG's value on it's own and if he can become the undisputed MW title holder, he will be the only PPV level fighter at the MW division.

And it all starts by not taking shit from Cotto and the WBC.

No emotion here, just pure and simple analysis of the facts of the situation. Emotion is thinking that Cotto runs boxing and that he can do whatever he pleases with no consequences.
