GGG is the most overrated hypejob of the last 10 years.......nobody knows how good he is......his status is based purely off speculation because he refuses to prove himself....... Floyd's resume at 21 yrs old still takes a hot steamy crap on GGG's. Bernard Hopkins, a guy who GGG nuthuggers love to compare GGG to and is considered a late bloomer still fought Roy Jones Jr before his 30th birthday if my memory serves me correctly....**** man, even Chavez Jr fought Martinez before his 30th birthday. Paul Williams couldn't get fights at ww so he moved up to challenge himself.....cotto and especically floyd arent gonna do this hypejob any favors by giving him a shot because that's not how they came up. They both fought the best while GGG has taken the easy route......Khan as much as it pains me to say deserves the fight more then GGG because he has put himself in a position to earn the fight.

To be fair, GGG isn't demanding a fight with Floyd or anyone else. Sure he would take a Floyd fight, so would anyone that could get to that weight without dying. I mean Floyd fought Maidana not once but twice, Ricky Hatton, Baldomir, Ghost. Let's not pretend Floyd only fights top 3 fighters or something haha.

All GGG wants is his fight with Cotto. Not sure when the deadline is on that but IF and WHEN that deadline passes, then I will say Cotto is ducking him and GGG is getting jobbed..

Lara's fight on Friday drew less than 450K. Monroe's lst fight on HBO drew almost triple that amount. Monroe also drew 12,000 fans to the LA Forum for his last fight while Lara fought in front of some 4000 fans, many of who got their tickets for free.

So yes, Monroe is a bigger draw as of their most recent appearances in the ring and on television.

A middleweight championship unification fight against Miguel Cotto probably is the most unlikely of Gennady***8217;s Golovkin***8217;s potential options to actually materialize.

Golovkin versus Andre Ward seems to be a close second. While Ward and Golovkin both have said that they***8217;ll fight each other, Golovkin***8217;s promoter made it clear in the aftermath of Golovkin***8217;s third-round knockout of Daniel Geale on Saturday night at Madison Square Garden that the dollars might not make sense for Golovkin or Ward.

Golovkin would have to move up from 160 pounds to 168 to make the fight, but that***8217;s not what truly concerns Tom Loeffler, managing director of K2 Promotions.

***8220;That***8217;s a fight that***8217;s going to be tough to make, if only because of the financial situation,***8221; Loeffler said. ***8220;Gennady would go to 168. You quote Loeffler, but I was saying that GGG is claiming that he himself indicated that he wanted to make the fight happen. I doubt Loeffler would/could really stop him if Ward were to come back and say anything other than what you are pointing out in that last bold statement (GGG referenced these points when he said Andre said no.)

Why would they want to give up a win-win scenario? If he fights Mayweather in hia first fight at 154 and loses it's Ward-Dawson II but the check still clears. If he wins he beats Mayweather.

Because he wants a payday. They turn their nose up at Ward, Degale and Lara in hopes of landing a payday with Floyd, Canelo and Cotto.

Other than Pacquiao and Bradley, who else at 147was ranked higher than Maidana? Ricky Hatton was the Lineal Champ at 140, WBA champ at 147 and had a top 5 ranking in the WW division. Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't Baldomir the Lineal champ at 147? I'll give you Guerrero, he basically got that fight because of his performance against Berto and he's Mexican.

But Cotto does not have to go up to another division to fight Golovkin. All he has to do is defend his WBC title against his mandatory as he is OBLIGED to do as part of being a WBC title holder. IF he does not wish to do that, he can vacate the title. There is no suitable excuse. Cotto claiming that he is not a middleweight is not a suitable excuse. Cotto weighing in at 153.6 against Geale is not a suitable excuse. When you are a BOXING CHAMPION, there is NO SUITABLE EXCUSE FOR AVOIDING YOUR CONTRACTUAL OBLIGATIONS AS A CHAMPION.

It Cotto does not want to accept his obligations, he has only ONE OPTION... VACATE THE MIDDLEWEIGHT TITLE. And there is no possibility of any true fan of the sport even attempting to debate this.

Uh oh, he's starting to trash Golovkin. Looks like we're getting Mayweather vs Cotto in September.

First of all Cotto has to either vacate his middle weight belt or fight GGG unless both Canelo and Cotto give GGG that the winner of their fight will fight GGG next. That is not going to happen because neither Canelo or Cotto want anything to do with GGG. And money is not the reason. The reason is simply that GGG would destroy both of them anytime anywhere. Second GGG has said that he can make 154 easily to fight Mayweather. That is not going to happen because that would be the end of Mayweather's win streak. So this is what is going to happen. Cotto is going to be stripped of his belt or vacate. Then Cotto will fight Alvarez. GGG will end up with the middleweight belt, which is all he has ever wanted. Then GGG will have a couple of fights at middle weight so tha the whole world knows who the best middle weight on the planet is. Then GGG will move up to super middle weight and lay a beating on guys like Andre Ward or who ever else will step in the ring with him.

I don't care about what Cotto has done in the past. That is totally irrelevant in regards to his being the MW title holder and having an obligation that comes with that title to make a mandatory defense. If he does not need anymore belts, then why is he holding on to this one so tightly? VACATE THE DAMN THING AND MOVE ON!
