If Canelo, Cotto, and Mayweather, all feel that GGG doesn't deserve a shot because he hasn't fought a top opponent, then how in hell can he fight a "TOP" opponent? On the flip side, if anyone is out here saying that these smaller fighters are "ducking" GGG, isn't it fair to say that GGG is "ducking" Andre Ward? Cotto holds the LINEAL MIDDLEWEIGHT AND WBC TITLE. That makes him a MIDDLEWEIGHT FIGHTER. If you dispute this, take it up with WBC and RING magazine and have them revoke their titles. When a title holder refuses to honor his mandatory defense, that is called DUCKING.

Canelo comes in the ring at a heavier weight than GGG does on fight night. He is NOT a smaller fighter.

Golovkin is offering to drop down to 154 to fight Mayweather who is the LINEAL TITLE HOLDER at that weight.

IF GGG becomes a SMW LINEAL TITLE HOLDER and Ward is his mandatory and GGG refuses to fight him, then yes, I will say that Golovkin is ducking Ward. If Ward makes a challenge and states that he is willing to drop to 160 to fight Golovkin and GGG refuses the fight, THEN I will say that GGG is ducking Ward.

Let me know when any of those situations become factual. Until that point, GGG is not ducking Ward or anyone else at a different division and no fighter from another division is ducking Golovkin. There is currently only one person who is ducking another fighter and that is Miguel 'Kneeguel Clucko' Cotto who is refusing to abide by the conditions of being a title holder and refusing to accept a mandatory defense.

Yes, it was interim, and yes, they were top opponents. Ortiz beating Berto is still Ortiz beating a top opponent. Canelo beating Trout is definitely beating a top opponent. The point is all 3 had beaten a "TOP" opponent before fighting Floyd. In fact, Floyd hasn't fought a weak opponent since he fought Shamba Mitchell in 2005.

There is some cold hard truth in here. Canelo/GGG right about the same in-ring weights is such an overlooked point.
