Yes, Wilder will fight another journeyman in September, and delay the fight with Povetkin for as long as he can.Comment

This might be the worst excuse ive ever heard
How does Wilder ever expect to make a big fight if he doesnt want to take some time to make it happen?
Hopefully this is just negotiating tacticsComment

Exactly, when you put that belt around your waist you better be ready for the best the division has to offer. If not, time to vacate and let those who really want to be a champ fight for the belt.Comment

It's mad the corruption within the WBC. When Stiverne got the title he wasn't allowed any voluntary or unification fights and was forced to fight not one but two mandatories back to back against American's. The WBC isn't even trying to hide their contempt for the fans.Comment

Hmmm yeah I am glad someone else has called the root of the problem here too. It's mad the corruption within the WBC. When Stiverne got the title he wasn't allowed any voluntary or unification fights and was forced to fight not one but two mandatories back to back against American's. The WBC isn't even trying to hide their contempt for the fans.
I even think it went a bit deeper than that allowing Stiverne to face Arreola (an American) in the 1st place rather than have Stiverne fight Wlad for it, what you'd imagine would naturally happen.
If that had transpired, we'd never be in this East/West split situation at all.
It's been the American dream all along.
No longer competitive in HW boxing, so steal a strap (and I do mean steal), run away to the US and disallow foreign competition.
Cowardly!
