Embarrassing, movie SouthPaw about left hand boxer, has him fighting Orthodox lol

Jake Gyllenhaal apparently fights out of the orthodox stance in the movie, yet the movie is titled and written about a southpaw boxer, Eminem who the story is inspired by is a southpaw in real life and was supposed to star in this movie with Nicolas Cage before he pulled out of the movie.

What they might have to do is change the name last minute and edit the parts mentioning him being a southpaw.

Why does the main character for boxing movie storylines always have to be a caucasian American?

There are almost NO elite caucasian-American boxers in the sport today. So to me it doesn't make sense. It just gives off that "great white hope" type of feel to it that might offend people.

But all in all I'll watch it. Jake is a great actor.

      Its Hollywood fool lol.

They should of had a boxer/trainer duo of Jamie Foxx (rags to riches/homeless to champion) and Forest Whitaker could of been the crazy old coach who almost gave up coaching when a young firey kid (Foxx) comes into the gym.

Eminem never actually boxed a fight in life, so what does the stance have to do with anything.... ? Beyond that, there's been tons of history in the sport of boxing where natural 'southpaws' fight orthodox, and vice versa, often for tactical reasons.

If anyone wants to be a **** about it, so be it.

I've read the southpaw label comes from his penis hanging to the left, giving the appearance that it uses the unorthodox stance.

Perhaps he switches stance in the movie?

Which is why documentaries > fictional movies. For me, Klitschko doc > Rocky series any day of the week.

Hollywood is supremely out of touch with reality. Off topic but one thing I hate about major movies is the main characters always have to win, especially when it comes to major American movies. It's why I love the ending of films the Mist, and Oldboy. Endings described as "cruel" by those who are so used to Hollywood bull****.

I do wish someone would make films out of mens journeymen like Ross Puritty, Ovill McKenzie, Henry Wharton (a traveller who gave Eubank, Benn, Reid hard nights). I personally believe their stories are the most interesting in boxing. Like Micky Ward.
