  • Froch-Golovkin Talks Die Down

The negotiations that were in process to make a super middleweight bout happen between the former IBF champion Carl Froch and middleweight titleholder Gennady Golovkin have cooled off. GGG’s promoter Tom Loeffler from K2 Promotions had confirmed the news that Froch hasn’t finalized his next opponent yet.

“Eddie says that Froch hasn’t decided yet if he is going to fight or not, so I am checking all other options to see what the best one for GGG is. Hopefully, we should have something more firm in the next couple of weeks.”

The 37-year-old Froch, who holds 33-2 record with 24 KOs, is away from the ring since 13 months after his knockout blow against George Groves at Wembley Stadium. He has since vacated his IBF title and is planning for retirement

De knew las week that the fight is dead. But if Froch find his nuts, then we will probably hear some news from Hearn.

I'm just hoping that. In fact I wouldn't mind Froch vs anyone and then GGG

GGG isn't fighting anyone that has chance of beating him until he gets cotto, canelo or floyd.
More cab drivers until that happens

GGG wants to fight Froch and will go to 168 and fight him in England but Froch doesn't want to fight GGG. Froch may be retiring and that's why he doesn't want to fight GGG. But if Froch doesn't retire and fights someone else then I would think he avoided GGG.

It's clear as day that Froch is scared stiff of GGG. That's the only reason he is going into retirement + he predicted it more than a year ago before Groves II.

He doesn't want anything to do with GGG and if he fights a guy like Degale which would be just as big if not a lot bigger, then it's a clear sign that GGG made him piss his pants.

Carl Froch has shown throughout his career that he isn't afraid of anyone, let alone a hyped up MW who hasn't beaten anyone of note.

GGG fanboys are rapidly becoming the worse fanbase in boxing.

The mere thought of Froch ducking Golovkin is just laughable.

I don't care if he fights again or fights someone else or whatever - Don't ever be such an idiot and tell me Froch is ducking Golovkin.

Yep. Who remembers Lucian Bute? The dude who people on here were calling a killer, an absolute beast, a guy who Andre Ward didn't want anything to do with, a true SMW, not a blown up MW. Froch was the only man in the division willing to fight him.

Ok it's easy to label Bute a bum after Froch took his soul, but before that fight, people were in awe of him, he had a big fanbase on here, just like GGG.

Froch scared of Golovkin? Yeah right!!

Carl's meeting with trainer and promoter was put off last week for this week, after which he'll make a decision. I'm hopeful the fight still happens, but I think it could end up being a Vegas fight in December rather than a Wembly fight in September. Let GGG have another fight to raise his profile and Carl maybe takes a tuneup.

If Mayweather doesn't fight on Sept 12, HBO could put on GGG in San Antonio vs Lara, and show Carl from Hearn's show earlier that day.

You think we're bad now, wait til he starts getting some big names and living up to his hype. You'll be welcomed to join us then.
