Even if the proceeds are split 50/50 between promoters and fighters, N'Dam (the #1 challenger) would get $300k, Lemieux (the #7 challenger when the bid was coming together) would get $1.2m, and Golden Boy would take home $1.5m; if Golden Boy ended up sharing more of the upside with Lemieux, you could logically come to the conclusion that N'Dam would be making a sixth or seventh of the money in giving this lower-ranked guy the opportunity.
And then you factor in the 30% to his promoter, 30% to taxes, and other expenses, and N'Dam is basically taking the fight for free.

I agree with Mustapha, this is shameful and a disgrace. They thought N'Dam would back out and just let Lemieux have the title, not so fast. I hope he shows how chinny Lemieux really is, and take's the belt home. He'll get paid right when he defends the next time out...
