Nicholas Walters another fighter picking on small guys

It looks like we can add Walters to the mix of guys who cut weight to get a size advantage over their opponents. I heard his walk around weight is 160 pounds, he came into the ring well over 145 and couldn't make the 126 pound limit.

Reminds me of Joan Guzman who used to fight at 122 pounds with a walk around weight of 155 pounds. Walters weighs more walking around than Pacquiao, Floyd and Marquez yet he is fighting at 126 pounds, thats insane.

Walters impressed me big time but knowing that he cuts that much weight is insane, he should be fighting at 140 pounds with that type of size he walks around at with lean muscle mass already.

I think he should be at 135 already, but not sure if his power will carry up in weight.

Agreed. It's why he such a power puncher at 126. I think he moves up to LW and becomes obscure.

I do think Walters is a big featherweight but let us not exaggerate how big he is. Saying he should be fighting at 135 or 140 is crazy given that most current fighters of these divisions should be in higher weight classes as well. Look how big some recent lightweights like Crawford and Beltran were.

Walters would be a midget at lightweight, let alone at light welterweight. He should move up to 130.

Also I don't know what happened this time. He misses weight and rehydrates up to 145 pounds on fight night (??). Against Donaire, he didn't seem to struggle at the weigh-in and he was "only" 137 pounds the day of the fight if I remember correctly. He must have put on too much weight in between both fights.

Yea the size difference last night was obvious. Some of the punches Marriaga was landing makes me think he'll get KTFO at a higher weight class.

If you are a bigger guy and want to kill yourself making the lower weights then I honestly don't care. Just make sure you make the weight.

No he is a guy who could weigh in in featherweight so he fought in featherweight expect his very last fight when he couldn't weigh in so I guess he will fight in sfw now. Stop bitching about "fighters pick smaller guys".

Crawford was bigger than most of the lw-s. So what? He did weigh in, it was legal, he could do it by the rules...
Same goes to Walters. Don't try to make it out as drain yourself in a smaller division is not a common thing in boxing and it's unethical. Not making the weight is not cool but I guess it won't happen any more. The fight didn't depend on that one pound. Marriaga was tough and his defence was tough also with that high guard but Walters outclassed him easily. I mean everyone with two eye could see that which fighter have more talent and which of them is the better.

I guess now these fucktrads will have a "reason" to hating on Walters too. Good to you.

Weighing 20lbs above the weight limit on fight night is excessive. I dunno why anyone has to have this explained to them.

Yup, and if they lose they shouldn't gain sympathy saying so and so weight drained them, if their intention was to gain a size advantage.

Walters is a big 126 pounder he was already lean with no fat on fight night and weighed 145 pounds and probably a few more extra pounds by fight time with proper rehydration.
