Haymon has made a huge mistake in hyping wilder...

For the last 4 years wilder should have been on every floyd Mayweather undercard.. Can you imagine how much more well known wilder would be with that type of exposure...

Why fight in September and not have him fight on Floyd's card? Doesn't make sense to me

        Stop your whining!

Both guys should stay active, hopefully fighting at least 1-2 significant fights is worth it.

Fighting Szpilka so soon makes no sense, for anybody really (Szpilka's only 19-1 and 26 years old, and also seems to be developing into a pretty big deal in Chicago; if Wilder becomes the fighter that people expect him to be [good enough to beat Klitschko] and Szpilka keeps winning and building his name in Chicago, you could logically have Deontay Wilder defend the undisputed championship at Soldier Field).

negotiating period starts in October, but the WBC will force a purse bid after a month if no deal is made (unless both sides inform the WBC that a deal is close enough to make the purse bidding process unnecessary). Once the purse bid is called and executed, I believe that they winning promoter would have 90 days to put on the fight.

Even if feet are dragged at every step of the process, the latest that Wilder-Povetkin ends up happening is March 2016 (likely a full 6 months after Wilder's next expected fight, and a 10-month period of inactivity for Povetkin).

I have said for the past few years, Povetkin is the best heavyweight besides wlad

Wilder was said to have made at least $1.5m for his fight with Eric Molina. You add that his camp is apparently considering taking a nice site fee to host his next fight at one of the MS gulf coast casinoes and simply piggybacking off of Mayweather doesn't make too much sense.

maybe; Deontay Wilder has cache because he's "the heavyweight champion of the world" as determined by the WBC. He now owes a fight to the WBC; whether that fight happens December 2015 or early 2016 will come down to how the talks go.
