      Yes.

Where would Ward have fought during most of boxing history, when there was no 168 division, just 160 and 175?

Bernard Hopkins said "168 is a division light heavyweights hide in to avoid the best light heavyweights".

Why is Ward allowed to fight at 172 anyway?

Ward is a great fighter, but dude has lost all my respect in recent years...

His ego has gotten the better of him in recent years... Tried to claim in court that goossen had mishandled his career and needed to become a free agent... Under goossen ward went from prospect, to world champion, to super six winner, to top 3 p4p, hbo contract with an announcing gig, and kept him active and always got him homefield advantage in Oakland...
Now dude is fighting on BET vs a nobody..SMH. Ward is an idiot

After all, he wanted Dawson to move down from 175 to 168.

But he'll demand the fight be at 168 (and in Oakland so he can have a shady home referee like Jack Reiss to permit him use illegal tactics such as deliberate head butts).

Andre Ward is a prima donna who demands everything his own way. Someone who claims to be a Christian shouldn't be so extremely selfish!!!
He's actually more likely to ask for a 174lb catchweight

Froch? Wards best win. Though that didn't get far, Froch would rather retire. Quillin has gotten multiple offers, Chavez backed out when GGG signed the contract at 168...

The inferior coward Ward needs to grow some balls and stop ducking the best light heavyweight in the world Sergey Kovalev

He also promised his mother he'd quit boxing at a certain age, 40 was it? so I'm not sure how credible his word is, but yes Ward should move up after this one.
