Andre Ward said he'd fight anyone at 168 and 175

Here it is, from ESPN, May 10 2012:

    http://espn.go.com/boxing/story/_/id...ard-bout-works

"I am ready to fight the best 168- and 175-pounders that are out there," Ward told ESPN.com in a recent interview. "At this point, a big fight at 175 is interesting to me. I don't want to go up just to go up. But for the right fight, for a big fight, I would go up. I'm willing to fight anyone at '68 or '75."
So why won't he fight Sergey Kovalev, who has three world titles, instead of repeatedly calling out smaller men like Gennady Golovkin and demanding they move up to 168?

Andre Ward has had 8 or 9 different excuses for refusing to fight Kovalev.

He and Kovalev are much closer in size than he and Golovkin and 175 was where he said he belongs for years.

He is shamelessly looking for ways to get back into the picture after years in the abyss but doesn't want to throw it away against Kovalev so soon.

I take it you have no interest in a Ward vs GGG fight?

After 6 tune ups on BET, Kovalev CAN get it.

              1. Hes not calling out GGG. Learn what calling out a fighter means, tard. People ask him about a GGG fight and he says he'll fight him but at the same time acknowledges that GGG is scared ****less of him and isnt going to fight him so he isnt chasing him.

              2. Both Duva and the Roc Nation guy say theyre setting up the fight for next year.

              3. Go USA

Yes, but Ward should move down to 160 for the fight.

After all, he wanted Dawson to move down from 175 to 168.

But he'll demand the fight be at 168 (and in Oakland so he can have a shady home referee like Jack Reiss to permit him use illegal tactics such as deliberate head butts).

Andre Ward is a prima donna who demands everything his own way. Someone who claims to be a Christian shouldn't be so extremely selfish!!!

I don't. Even a rusty Ward easily wins that fight.

A guy Canelo's size vs a guy who won a gold medal at 178 lbs? Just seems lame. They both have guys closer to their own size they need to fight and are calling each other out for attention.

That's IF Ward can even make 168 anymore. He's as of right now a light-heavyweight.
